I need some opinions on my video review
Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this, but i need a few opinions if my accent is easily understandable, or a chore to understand.
I mean, to me it sounds good, but i want to hear some other opinions.
Thanks.

Your accent's fine (Russian? Eastern European?), but your voice is a little too monotone and It's hard to pay attention to what you're saying because of that.
Take a listen to this:

If you can learn to be more expressive with your voice, it'll make your reviews more interesting to listen to. Hope that helps!

Well, i'm not surprised, it's hard as hell for me to be more expressive with my voice in english, i'm really not used to speaking the language, compared to, say, writting it.Retrodude wrote:Your accent's fine (Russian? But i guess practice makes everything perfect. It's good that my accent didn't get in the way of what i'm talking about tho, so that is good news indeed.
Re: I need some opinions on my video review
Your accent was a bit tough at first but it seems like it kind of mellowed out a bit futher in to the review. I would highly recomend getting some sort of Pop filter for your mic.
The review did make me wonder why I traded it away... Need to track it down again.

Thanks for the feedback, i also tried to be more expressive with my Splatterhouse 3 review here:
I think i handled it better.. Oh well, i think my accent will get better over time, as i get used to speaking the language.

Your accent is completely understandable and more than fine.
A few points of creative criticism, should you take them into consideration:
Shorten your intros. Tons of reviewers such as Game Sack have drawn out intros. The viewer wants you to get right to the game being reviewed. We live in a generation who demands instant gratification.
Concerning the game being reviewed, show more of the game being reviewed. Showing the first (or first few) stages of the game doesn't make for a thorough review and makes some viewers skeptical on your knowledge of the game.
Immediately back up your claims. "This is a great game" or "This is a terrible game" should always be followed with a succinct "Because of x and y". That's my major gripe with most "game reviewers". They'll have a "Top 20 Worst Games" and just say "This game is horrible" and not provide a single reason why they think the game is bad. That's not a review.
Other than that I think you are on your way to making some great reviews.
Keep it up!

Watched it, and it wasnt bad at all. At first the accent was a little hard to understand, but it quickly was fine. i thought you were ok with the expressiveness too, I mean I have heard way more mono tone voices on reviews. I was actually interested in the game after watching the review also, so it is accomplishing its goal for sure.

Re: I need some opinions on my video review
Working with non-native English speakers, I can say that I understood most of your dialogue (after a while). But I am curious to know the kind of audience you are trying to reach out to? I mean, we are in the internet age, there's plenty of videogames that gamers have played in one part of the world that others haven't. Are you trying to reach out to English-speaking viewers in the Americas, Europe, or Pacific?
Also, try to add more content - what I saw was the start-up screen and the first stage, and you mentioned the game gets harder as you advanced further in the game; how about some shots of later stages to give viewers an understanding?
That's my opinion, but I do appreciate the effort you put into this.

Re: I need some opinions on my video review
Thanks for the feedback and the criticism, this is honestly something i appreciate.
@skyknight,
I simply have a ton of games lying around for my SEGA Genesis, Saturn, PC etc., and i love talking about them.
None of my friends, collegues, family, is into old consoles (or games in general), so i decided to just reach out to a wide audience on the net (everyone that speaks english).
I know i could just post on forums about my gaming hobby, but hell, i might as well make some videos of these games and see were that goes.
