Gammacide - Fossilized My favorite track off this 89' thrash gem. One of the greatest riffs EVER at 1:18.
3 Inches of Blood - Battles & Brotherhood Some sick riffy thrash revival.
Serpent and the Rainbow - Beyond the Darkness My friend's project he recorded in his Kitchen. Actually one of the best new things I've heard in a while (quality and originality). The main riff rivals Reign in Blood.
3 Inches of Blood is playing here with fucking GOATWHORE soon. i am super, super psyched.

Gojira is one of those bands I've always really liked the sound of and think they have a cool vibe... but I just can't get into their music.

Maybe I'll give them another shot one day. I mean Devin Townsend did do vocals for them once after all, and I love that guy...

I love 3 Inches of Blood. But they just aren't as good since losing the original lead singer.

The HAARP Machine - Esoteric Agenda

Pure..awesome. They remind me alot of The Faceless's new stuff.

This band is practically unheard of. And it's a crime since this song is so incredibly awesome:

Skyfire - "Legacy of the Defeated"

It's a nice mix of Black Metal and Melo-Death.

I use to like some new bizarre metal noise shit, but lately it's all about the classics. Can't get me enough of Iron Maiden and old school Anthrax and Megadeath

Went to the San Antonio show last night... OMZGWTF THIS IS ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY FUCKING AMAZING. FUCK!!!!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome show. It wasn't listed anywhere, but Immortal Guardian played about a 4 or 5 song set before Firewind went on, that was very cool. I hadn't actually listened to them before, but they were great. Firewind was good, and the new singer is from Texas, but they sounded somewhat formulatic, and I didn't totally get into them.

Turisas was awesome. Great guys, they play great, really funny. They got the audience to buy them beer... they had around 12 six packs and a large amount of bottles sitting on stage at the end of the night. (It was also kind of weird seeing a Viking drinking Lone Star  ) They talked about their last show here 5 years ago, and how they crashed a house party here. Apparently, the singer picked up a girl there, and on the new CD coming OUT THIS SUMMER, he has a song about that night and that girl on it...

So pumped though. I still feel like I should swim the ocean and storm a castle, or fight a crocodile barehanded, or fist fight with Chuck Norris.

EDIT: Damn, I should have bought a Tshirt. I didn't have the cash though... and I can't really find shirts online.

I can't stop listening to this from beginning to end. Definitely buying this and one of their other albums on hard copy on my next paycheck.
Nice. I may have a new favorite band here

:o But they are sometimes considered metalcore! That's blasphemy!

:P Though, a lot of stuff that shouldn't gets that label now...

Interesting question here- how many melodeath bands with good clean vocals are around? I know a lot of people into the Christian Alvestrom bands, and the Agonist, but I know of few others. I'm also interested in seeing more bands with good growling vocals, ala Amon Amarth or Insomnium, seeing as most are near gibberish.
