Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

It's one of those things that doesn't sit well with me, at all.

Look at this as an opportunity. I know that is easier said than done, but this does provide you with a chance to really shine. Best of luck buddy, and let us know how things go.

Yeah I know it could be a good thing, but the last time I met with the super big boss, well half the room were not at work the next day.

Smile - X-wing Minis are back in stock at some places this week, and after last nights match my wife decided she wants more units. So Ive been juggling funds from random giftcards and sources to see if I can finagle enough to get half a dozen ships. Ships come out to be about $10ish a pop.

I hear you loud and clear. At times like these all you can do is give it your best. Cliche', but true.

Put together a portfolio of articles related to video games being used to treat mental and physical illnesses and handicaps as well as informational material concerning the Child's Play charity fund and give it to your mother. Tell her you are going into an industry related to the treatment of disease and psychological disorder.

Check out the AbleGamers as well.

But yeah, do get an internship asap if you don't already have one.

In defense of your mom, there is too many game developers these days and finding a solid studio to work from looks thin, maybe if your full of gaming ideas, could join the indie market, that too seems overflowed imo.

I started going to school for Computer Support Specialist, and gave up due to the market being over-saturated, 10 years ago i would of been gold, but everyone is into computers these days...

The Healthcare field is where its at, with all the baby-boomers getting old and needing healthcare, it just makes sense, but i however i hate hospitals and being around the sick.

Quick word of advice: Avoid mentioning the companies product(s) and focus on the company itself. This is usually common knowledge, but I can't tell you how many interviews I've held where the candidate was very "Ohh, I love your products. I've been using them for blah blah blah...." That's nice, but that's not going to contribute to the bottom line.

A Harley exec doesn't give a crap if you ride a Suzuki as long as you're making him/her money.

Unless you work for Coca-Cola. But that's a major part of their corporate culture. You should seriously look into what the culture is like of any company you secure an interview with. Consider it a normal part of your research when getting to know a place.
