What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I thought Seth was great. My favorite in recent memory was Hugh Jackman. Billy Crystal last year was underwhelming, although that was probably because he had a shorter time to prepare after Eddie Murphy dropped out.

JACK THE GIANT SLAYER
Oof.
Oof.

Oof? Is that good or bad? I'm looking forward to seeing this because I'm a big fan of Bryan Singer and it looks really cool in all the trailers.

All I am hoping out of Jack is that it will have fun battle scenes. Much like the remake of the Titans movies - I dont really need a plot, just alot of action and some really big baddies.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Oof as in bad. The visuals are pretty awful. the story is basically "Hey, Giants are a'coming!", and the humor consists of bodily functions. And I don't mind toilet humor when used sparingly and done well (Shrek), but it isn't done well in this film. Yes, I'm sure Giant farts are loud, and that giant boogers are gross. Do something with that, just not show it.
The trailer makes the film seem like it has a lot more action then it actually does. It's dull and drags at times when you are expecting a build up. It's going to age terribly too. For a "Giant" movie, it is very fungible.
It's near the bottom of my 2013 list.

Sad to hear
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Something tells me I'm going to see it, go "huh? what's he talking about?", and then end up defending this as a good movie that gets bashed undeservedly. Happens all the time (X-Men: The Last Stand, anyone?).

Well if you defend X-Men 3 not sure there's any help for you.Retrodude wrote:Something tells me I'm going to see it, go "huh? what's he talking about?", and then end up defending this as a good movie that gets bashed undeservedly. Happens all the time (X-Men: The Last Stand, anyone?).
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Why? It's just like every X-Men comic I've ever read. Seems like a good adaptation to me. The people who claim it's not like the comics are in denial.Stark wrote:Well if you defend X-Men 3 not sure there's any help for you.

...wow. Just as long as you don't say the Transformers films were good.Retrodude wrote:Why? It's just like every X-Men comic I've ever read. Seems like a good adaptation to me.
