Game Storage Question: Plastic Game Cart Sleeves

Post by Mechblue »

I found some of these plastic game sleeves on ebay and they look pretty much like custom fit comic book sleeves. The listings don't mention anything about static, should I be concerned about possible static from these bags zaping the games inside? Is this kind of excessive for game storage, should I even bother?

A sandwich or snack ziplock bag? Your own signature says it all. Get a box, the snack size at the grocery store for a lot cheaper. The bag looks like a good way to keep out the dust. Static electricity won't be a problem as long as you don't do the excess genie lamp rub on the plastic.

EDIT
Looked at it again on a bigger screen, is it the sticky envelope design as on japanese packaging of DVDs? If so then maybe better then the ziplocs.

Thanks for the suggestions and information. Didn't want to zap any of those rare games trying to protect them. I'll have to weigh out the cost of plastic sandwich bags versus comic / graphic novel bags from a local comic shop. Both are cheap for large quanities.

The ones in the picture on ebay do have an resealable adhesive but for the price they ask per 100 bags, a similar bag with a small piece of tape is just as effective.

A link?

I might be interested for oddball sizes. I have more then enough extras of the DVD size from Bookoff.
