Probably not, but I comment on his stuff frequently, so you never know. I'm probably delusional by luke's definition, but I enjoy the back and forth between viewer and creator anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. That's what a fan community is about, right?

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I'd really quite like my acne to recede by August or so, when I head off to college.
Unfortunately I get the feeling it wont, and worst part is, by that time I'll have to stop the antibiotics (using them longer than a year, even though they're basically the lightest ones on the market, is still ill-advised). So it will likely inflame if anything. I can keep my hopes up though.
It doesn't really bother me personally. I look in the mirror and it doesn't really annoy me. It's the uneducated masses that never had to deal with acne that they could simply wash away that I find aggravating. Especially when I work so hard at being a healthy, hygienic individual.

How old are you again?
Had the acne bout myself back in jr. high or something. I went on a few antibiotics but finally hit up the infamous accutane, it pretty much took care of it permanently. I'd imagine the older you get the less of an issue it'll be too, but everyone is different. Hopefully you can find something that works for you and get off those antibiotics, you'll be even healthier away from those!
I use Cetaphil Facial Cleanser to wash my face with daily, been my favorite stuff to use for years now.

I've still got acne popping up. My mom still gets it at her age though, so it's probably related to that.
It's really bad on my back.

I'm 19. I unfortunately can't take Accutane. Despite that there's no real recorded link to Chrone's disease I'm already at higher risk and the dermatologist doesn't want me taking a chance with that (can't say I'd want to either).Xeogred wrote:How old are you again?

My father's went away around this age so I can only hope that his genetics kick in and mine goes away as well.
I live with an esthetician as well, so we treat it pretty aggressively.

I have acne. I actually find ProActiv to be pretty effective. Problem is that benzoyl peroxide can stain/bleach fabrics.
I used to have a tendency to overwash my face and that seemed to make things worse. I now use ProActiv every 3 days or so and it works pretty well. I'll never be free of acne, but things are relatively under control.

I've still got acne myself and I'm 26. It's gotten better as I've gotten older, but it still pops up despite my best efforts, particularly in a couple chosen spots on my face. Most over the counter stuff doesn't work for me, either because I can't use it (I'm allergic to sulfa so sulfates tend to do more harm than good) or it's too strong for my sensitive skin.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I'm 19. I have found out lately that using apple cider vinegar helps. It's not perfect, but it seems to kill the pimples pretty quickly and it keeps the zits at a more manageable level. It might be something others would like to try if they haven't.
My mom's also gotten this handheld microdermabrasion kit off Amazon. She got it to see if it'll help with her wrinkles, but it's also been suggested that it might help my acne. By clearing off that thin layer of skin (the one where all the gunk is) the topical stuff I'm using now might be a little more potent. And it's supposed to help minimize the pores, so hopefully they won't get so clogged. I don't know if it'll work, but it can't hurt to try.
Though really, I've pretty much come to accept that it's just something I'm probably going to have to live with, at least for a while longer.

ACV is one of the healthiest things you can add to your diet. And it's good for your personal hygiene too as you may have read in the 'What is good / bad for your health' thread I made a while ago. Just make sure it's organic unpasteurized (raw) ACV. You don't want them to filter out all the 'mother of vinegar'...Michi wrote:I have found out lately that using apple cider vinegar helps. A good alternative for ACV is Kombucha. But only if you make it yourself or know someone who makes it. Never buy commercially made Kombucha...
