You've always been able to do ridiculously unrealistic stuff in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, even the first game. No way could any real skater come close to pulling off that many tricks in like a 10 second period.Luke wrote:THPS3 is where it got too ridiculous for me. Not that THPS had some silly stuff in it, but when skaters started doing a "coffin grind" on suspended electrical wires.

Yeah I do have THUG and it's not too bad, but for me it's a feeling I get when I play the older ones, maybe it just reminds me of being a teenager again

Bahahaha I couldn't stop laughing at this part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ljsm0-4VIY&t=1m41s. I love that he doesn't put his arms out for protection or anything, just accepts the fall like a sack of potatoesJ T wrote:This is what real skating looks like

Re: Too many Tony Hawks
I don't mind there being too many Tony Hawks. They are fun games to play; however, the series really didn't benefit from the turds that were Ride and Shred.
Everyone shouldn't overlook the Tony Hawk games on GBA either, they are just awesome.

Yeah, gotta love the darkslide balance reset that allowed you to basically grind forever, I had a line in Moscow that would allow a full circle around the stage, and if you didnt mess up you could combo for as long as you wanted.shwisha wrote:The combo system in THUG was so fun.

Check your boy Jason Lee make sick moves at the 40- 44 sec mark. Ridiculous.

Re: Too many Tony Hawks
Not saying it's not impressive. But it's still doesn't even come close to touching what you can pull off in the Tony Hawk games (first game included). You can pull off like 10 tricks in the air at once, and switch up just as many different kinds of grinds on the same line.Luke wrote:You'd be surprised.BurningDoom wrote:No way could any real skater come close to pulling off that many tricks in like a 10 second period.

I loved THPS - THPS4 as well as Project 8, all the others were really average.
I really enjoyed the recent THPSHD, I thought they did a cracking job on it, got all the achievements, its a shame the dlc was a let down.

No, the correct answer is to many Madden, tiger woods, and sports games.
