My fiancée just beat the Silent Hill HD remakes (2&3) over the weekend 26 hours and 2 games later she's ready for more.
I on the other hand Beat Pokémon Blue for the 2334th time, never gets old...

Arpuhguh? Fffpiss? Bah!
"Shmup" is far more elegant!

So Luke is rolling through some tough-as-nails classic games. What's next - Contra? Ninja Gaiden?

Contra should already be on my list! 2 continues used

I'm considering tackling Fester's Quest again.
Actually, scratch that. I'm going to relax and beat Jackal and DuckTales.
Re: Games Beaten 2013
1. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD (Ps3)
2. Metal Gear (MSX) (via MGS HD collection)
3. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX) (via MGS HD collection)
4. Metal Gear Solid (Ps1)
5. Metal Gear Solid 2 HD (Ps3)
6. Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (Ps3)
7. Metal Gear Solid 4 (Ps3)
There, I'm done with this. I'm not sure what I'm going to play through next, but I guarantee it's going to have nothing to do with Metal Gear!
MGS3 I actually liked a lot more on this playthrough than I did the first time through it. I love the cold war setting and the whole survival aspect where you have to hunt for food and such. I think this one might actually be my favorite now. It's also completely standalone, which is nice for various reasons.
MGS4... isn't really my favorite. It works well enough, but I found myself missing things like how you don't save via codec anymore. I'm also not a fan of the game being broken up into chapters across multiple areas. I liked how the other games are basically one giant mission. They went out of their way to tie up every loose end imaginable in this, even if some of those loose ends weren't really tied as well as I'd like. Some stuff was probably just better off not explained... On the flipside, Shallow as it is, I did at least enjoy all of the nonstop references and nods to previous games and whatnot.
But yeah, playing through all of them like this was pretty neat. If I ever do this again, though, I think i'll tackle it chronologically. Not doing that any time soon though...

Are you sure its not going to be Revengeance?

I'd planned it originally, but since I'm broke right now I'm not gonna pick that one up just yet. At least it plays pretty differently, though.

Bravo, SolidQueso. I couldn't make it through Peace Walker, but I've been meaning to fire up MGS4 and MGS1/Twin Snakes since beating two and three.

1. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - PC
2. Hotline Miami - PC
3. Assassin's Creed: Revelations - PC
4. Skate 2 - 360
5. Deponia - PC
NEW
6. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - PS3
7. Borderlands 2 - Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty [DLC] - PC
8. The Walking Dead: Episode 1 - 360
9. Assassin's Creed III - PC
10. The Journey Down: Chapter One - PC
Total for 2013: 10
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - PS3
Loved the game as can be expected. I liked the flashback scenes and how they explain some of Drakes past. Not as good as the second, which I thought got it perfect, but still a 9.5/10 game.
Borderlands 2 - Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty [DLC] - PC
Decent bit of a DLC, more of the same with some new stuff thrown in, what you want from DLC, was a bit shorter than I thought it would be, but that is my only complaint. Having to fight the last boss twice felt a bit....forced.
The Walking Dead: Episode 1 - 360
I read the comics and watch the TV show, it is nice to have a great game set in the world as well. It plays out much more like a choose your own adventure novel than a true point and click adventure game, but worth it for the story, looking forward to the next episodes.
Assassin's Creed III - PC
I have mixed feelings about this game. They did a lot right, the setting, the world created, some of the characters are interesting, the new boat system is enjoyable. However I dislike the 5 chapter tutorial that is so slow its painful, a leading character who is boring with the stereo typical "I do what is right, because it is right" crap. I did like how they did not hold the "America fuck yeah" attitude so points for that.
Overall it is a good game, but with such a boring main character and many new ideas that don't feel finished, it reminds me a lot of the original game in the series.
The Journey Down: Chapter One - PC
This short game (I finished it in less than a hour) was really enjoyable, but a bit easy, I never found myself stuck for more than a few minutes. It has an original art style (modeled after African statues, etc) and starts what I hope will be a long and interesting story. It took the indie team a few years to make this first chapter, I am hoping after sales, etc, it does not take as long for the second chapter.

Finished Assassin's Creed Brotherhood last night. It's a good game ... but this series has the worst endings.

1. Mega Man (NES)
2. Kirby's Adventure (NES)
3. Toejam & Earl (GEN)
4. Mortal Kombat (SCD)
5. Rockband (Hard) (360)
6. Mega Man 2 (NES)
7. Metal Storm (NES)
8. Little Samson (NES)
9. Castlevania (NES)
10. Super Mario Bros (NES)
11. Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers (NES)
12. Contra (NES)
13. Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
14. Pro Wrestling (NES)
SMB3 was played co-op with the same friend that I cleared Toejam with. He was looking fora more obscure game in my collection, but mentioned that we may as well play SMB3 since its awesome and he had never cleared it properly. He was the one to beat Bowser too, with one life in stock (I think had 53
).
As for Pro Wrestling, my gf was wanting to see some of the new games I have been picking up, but since there were so many, she was calling out random letters, and I had t show her a game that started with that letter. So, she called out "P", and this happened to be my only "P" game. I'd only ever really played it to make sure it worked, but after figuring the controls out, I must say this is a really enjoyable game. Its pretty easy once you get the hang of it, (At least with Star Man it was), but the controls are tight, and there are far more moves than I expected from such an early NES title.
