Playstation 1 Parallel Port

Post by yoursaboteur »

Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong section but I made a few searches and came up empty handed. Figured I'd maybe have some luck here

I recently picked up an old, but working, beat up PS1 for next to nothing. I took it apart and cleaned it up; it looks practically brand new now. However, the previous owner must have discarded or misplaced the cover that goes over the Parallel I/O port.

Can anyone help me track one down or steer me in a better direction? I've checked eBay but I'd like to avoid buying a junk console just for the cover. Shipping prices alone on that site are next to ridiculous :|

Here's a picture of the port cover I found online with a quick image search:

Just keep hitting local Swap Meets and Thrift Stores, another will turn up. Keep in mind the newer grey models do not have a parallel port. Instead of a cover, maybe cover the hole with a utility cart? Most of the cheat carts bypass the opening screen for a quicker load.

I'll be on the lookout in the meantime - thanks for the advice!
