This has been an interesting thread to read through. As for myself:
1. Tetris (Gameboy) - Was the first game/system I ever owned. Dreamed of falling blocks for months.
2. TMNT IV (SNES) - I never actually owned a copy of this, but my parents probably bought it 3 times over with how many times I rented it. About once a month me and a buddy or two would rent this game, get some pizza and play all night. A couple of years ago I revisited it with one of my friends and we beat it first try, something that was impossible when we were kids.
3. Mario Kart (SNES) - Me and my cousin played this almost daily. I remember we spent a night messing around in the battle mode level where you could jump the blocks and hide inside where the water was. After that we did our best to find all the spots you could jump the track.
4. Mortal Kombat II (SNES) - I remember spending nights with a friend practicing fatalities on each other, since he was one of the first people in town with an internet connection to look them up. It was also one of the few games my dad played with me that he was good at.
5. Bloody Roar (PSX) - Perhaps an odd one, since it's not really considered a good game by many. But me and my friends loved it. Eventually we set up a system were you had to choose a new character if you lost, and the first to run out of characters lost the set.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory got me deep into competitive FPS. I put more time and practice into it than my college studies, but I wouldn't consider it part of my childhood.
Like most everyone else in here I could probably list off another 2 or 3 dozen, but these are probably the ones that had the greatest impact.
Excuse me, I need to clean up all the nostalgia in here, now.

I loved the game. Didn't realize it was considered a bad game, though. I just thought it was a mostly unknown game.auxint wrote:5. It sometimes gets a bad rap, but I liked it too, tons of combos in the game. Flows real nice.BurningDoom wrote:I loved the game. Didn't realize it was considered a bad game, though.
