Certainly worth playing and the story is interesting and interestingly told. It's not all that deep though, not shallow either, just kinda in the middle.

I've been playing Growlanser Wayfarer of Time recently and am quite enthralled in the plot. I'm only about 6 hours in so IDK if it will be as good later on or not.

Going to 2nd this, this series is very good and all about the storyline, also all the games in the series are dirt cheap.

Maybe over-printed or just no one wants them, but worth collecting them all.

here's the chronological order:

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen - PC/PS
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 - PS2/XBOX/GC/PC
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - DC/PS/PC
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 - PC/PS2/DC
Legacy of Kain: Defiance - PC/PS2/XBOX

So I bought Heavy Rain a week ago from today. Beat it twice already. I love that game but hate it so much at the same time. I felt lost in the game but the game also felt so cheap at times.

I've been playing Odin Sphere and am pretty impressed with the story.

While it does seem derivative of Nibelungenlied (or Wagner's Ring Cycle), it feels a lot deeper than most video games.

Fear Effect - A good story that also has some genuinely creep moments
Tenchu 2 - I really liked the villainous love story between the two main antagonists. It was one of those stories where you could kind of see where the bad guys are coming from
Primal - A decent adventure game in the vein of something like Soul Reaver or Tomb Raider, with a decent story and characters to boot. It also features voice acting from a woman I wouldn't mind marrying (Hudson Leick)
Grandia - One of my favorite rpgs
Sword of the Berserk Guts Rage - Being based on a manga and anime, it has a good story for a simplistic hack n slash game
