Re: Switching between games
I used to frequently have two or three games in progress at any given time, but I can't do that anymore. I always end up losing interest in one or more of them, so I just do one at a time now.

Re: Switching between games
This is how I am now. I have been trying to beat Blue Dragon for 2 years now lol. Each time I lose interest and stop play, then when I go back I cannot remember what I was doing and have to start all overBoringSupreez wrote:I used to frequently have two or three games in progress at any given time, but I can't do that anymore. I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)
Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping!

Re: Switching between games
There's usually one or two big games that I have going at a given time that I'll focus on, while tossing in stuff with a lot of pick up and play to them for variety (shmups, fighting games, racing, etc.). Provided I don't stop playing one of the big ones for too long, I'm usually okay.
Granted I don't play a lot of games with a big, sweeping story nowadays. I'll watch a movie or some anime for that. Most long games I'll play now are stuff like 4X, grand strategy, and such where I just need to take a look at my map and my territories briefly to review what's going on in the game.
I think that's what I love about retro games: I don't really have a problem jumping between games because they're fairly short, and it's easy to figure out where I am story-wise if there is a story.

So you have Neo Geo CD, huh?dsheinem wrote:I play handheld games during the loading screens of my console games.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I only play one at a time.
In all seriousness, I think there are games that have a built-in mini-game to play during long load times. Maybe some old C64 tapes/disks - I can't remember.
Re: Switching between games
I usually keep 2 or 3 different games going, but they're all on different hardware. It's a lot easier to get back into a game when you have the hardware right in front of you, and that's all you do with that piece of hardware. Start swapping hardware and I get lost fast.
Right now I have Baldur's Gate (PC), Majora's Mask(N64), and Colony Wars(PSX) going. These are all different genres too, which helps keep them separate in my mind and encourages me to swap between them when I want something different.

Re: Switching between games
I was pretty far along in RE5 on the PC before I switched to RE4 on Wii for some reason lol
Re: Switching between games
Yeah I struggle with the same problems of loosing interest or forgetting what I'm doing.
I normally play one story based game at a time, but I have a selection of arcade style games that I can just pick up and blast for an hour or two inbetween. I find that this works well for me
