Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Women find the humor in receiving a fake rose from the gas station on Valentine's Day, don't they?

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
She's a keeper indeed, but I was only goofing. I bought the wife a beautiful bouquet of a dozen red roses* with greenery and babies breath, plus a bottle of Imperial Moet Champagne. I'm cooking a lobster risotto for dinner, and will make a Baked Alaska for dessert.Stark wrote:If she does, she's a keeper.Luke wrote:Women find the humor in receiving a fake rose from the gas station on Valentine's Day, don't they?
Every year I tell myself to tone it down, but every year on Valentine's Day my savings account takes quite the hit.
*You can't beat a classic. I wanted to get a dozen Yellow Tulips, which signifies hopeless love, but I couldn't find a florist who had any decent tulips in stock.

Not too surprising, it's not really the growing season for tulips yet.Luke wrote:*You can't beat a classic. I wanted to get a dozen Yellow Tulips, which signifies hopeless love, but I couldn't find a florist who had any decent tulips in stock.

I'm somewhat of an annoying know-it-all, but I don't know Jack about botany.Stark wrote: Not too surprising, it's not really the growing season for tulips yet.

Neither do I, I just so happen to live within a few miles of acres of tulip fields ...Luke wrote:I'm somewhat of an annoying know-it-all, but I don't know Jack about botany.Stark wrote: Not too surprising, it's not really the growing season for tulips yet.

That's the thing... I could spend my whole life collecting games and one of these rich dudes could simply drop some dough and nab a collection 10 times the size of mine in a single day.flojocabron wrote: http://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/2013-01-31/aaa

Hell, my wife makes 10x as much as I do. She could probably equal my games collection within a month or two (not that she would ever collect video games haha).

Opened up my RGB monitor to look around and see if I can spot any bad caps, figuring a bad capacitor might be the source of my pincushion problems.

Holy crap, I've never seen a CRT that looked like THIS on the inside.
All that metal shielding makes it hard to look around, and it looks like it'll be a huge pain to remove...

True, but why worry about those guys buying games? I'm sure they collect their own stuff, like fine wines and alcohol, yachts, airplanes, underage slave girls, and pink slips to give to poor people.BoneSnapDeez wrote:That's the thing... But if you could find out what they collect, then you've got something to discuss. Because sure, having the collection is nice, but I'm sure they appreciate the thrill of the hunt just as much as we do. They're just hunting for things like diamond-encrusted gold toilet seats.
