MY girlfriend is seriously, seriously pissed at this news. Besides the Marios, Zeldas and party games, this was the one game she wanted the Wii U for. She was already annoyed enough that it was pushed back from launch day to March. But now November? And no longer exclusive? Fuck Ubisoft.

Speaking of Ubisoft. They should have Q? Entertainment port Child of Eden to the Wii U with Wii U Gamepad and Wii remote functions. Oh, and port it to the Vita too

Yes, how dare Ubisoft make decisions that will make them more money!

If you're talking about exclusivity then sure, but how does delaying it for the WiiU make them more money?

I was always under the impression that simultaneous releases net more cash than later ports.

(And I don't mean to sound like an a-hole -I do wish the people who were really excited for this got the game on time- but what ubisoft is doing makes financial sense to me.)

I believe simultaneous releases do make more money than later ports, so I'm sure Ubi will be making more money off this than they would otherwise. My issue is that they told us that Rayman would be coming out earlier this year as a Wii U exclusive, and then changed their minds. If they had announced it as a multi-plat title for September 2013 from the start, I would have had zero problems with them.

That sucks about Rayman Legends. I was just playing the demo last night thinking about how excited I am to buy it new in just a few weeks. I hardly ever buy games brand new so I have a feeling by the time September rolls around i'll just wait and buy it used or when it drops in price.

I didn't mind your point, sounded fine to me.

So it may very well that that they make more money this way, but in my mind it basically went from something cool for my new system that I can't get anywhere else and would pay close to MSRP for, to something that I can get on everything and might as well wait until it hits the bargain bin. Essentially it lost the possibility of being part of the "attach rate" for the WiiU's launch window.

And that's good business for Ubisoft, but bad for Nintendo. What I wonder is, did Nintendo have some kind of deal with Ubisoft to make it exclusive, and if so, what happened to cause it all to fall through? This isn't just a question of money, it has to do with contractual obligations as well.

It seems to me like this time around Nintendo released a console with two weak 1st party games to ameliorate 3rd Party whining about their inability to compete with 1st party franchises. They actively sought these 3rd parties, gave them a launch window to work from, gave them little competition from in house, and the 3rd parties scoffed. It seems like ever since PS1, no matter what Ninty does for them, they just scoff, say its not enough, say its too hard, but they never give Ninty exclusives a chance. They talk about how excited they are, and how they will give great games to Ninty, but in the end they never do. It seems it is no longer possible to have a console that is strong in both 1st party support, and 3rd party support. I guess this is why I'm a Retro Gamer
