Called eBay today. It was a simple case of miscommunication. Customer service lady yesterday was supposed to send a notice to a seller for me because his PayPal account wasn't verified and wouldn't accept my payment. She accidently sent the message to me. So I call today to get it to right place, and the guy I talk to today is rude as hell. He's arguing with me, raising his voice above mine to tell me that I'm wrong and paying is my responsibility as I'm trying to tell him I have and he won't accept it because of his PayPal account. I finally get sick of getting into a voice-raising match and ask for a supervisor and he tells me "What's a supervisor gonna do?" So I'm all like, "Are you fucking with me, now?" And he gets pissed and tells me not to talk to him that way. Seriously? And he's "customer service". I don't think the guy knows the meaning of the phrase. I'm just pissed off now. Luckily, after he pissed me off and I hung up on him. I called back and got a nice lady to help me out with it.

So I've been working on my car for a while, thinking I would need a new carburetor. Playing with it today, I'm thinking that its just a screwy vacuum hose. The hose is hardened to crap, and it broke every time I try to reset it...

I just don't want to buy a new carburetor, that's more cash than I have right now.

Be careful, you do not want to bust the metal take off on the carburetor. Just change the entire hose, an inexpensive fix. Is it the PCV or a vaccum line to what? If the line goes far and is buried, you can always add a small metal or plastic tube along with the replacement hose after cutting the old hose brittle end short.

Why do you think the carb is bad? PM me if you like, might be able to help. Better yet make a new thread so others can chime in, maybe offer different approaches.

What does the vacuum line go to? In addition to the air leak causing a leaner mixture, it might also have an additional affect such as timing if it is for vacuum advance on the distributer.
