Nick D's Video Game Vault Kickstarter Campaign!

Post by ChronoNick »

Hey folks, Nick D here! I'm trying to drum up support for my Nick D's Video Game Vault Kickstarter campaign. I am trying to raise $1,000 by April 2nd to use in starting up a small business of selling classic video games at a local flea market. People there are ripping off classic gamers with dirty, broken, and overpriced games that most of the time don't even work. I'm trying to change all of that in an area that doesn't offer much in the way of options for classic gamers.

Below is the link to my Kickstarter campaign page. I'm looking for all the support I can get in this.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure using Kickstarter to start a business is against the terms of service.

But good luck to you for trying to get a thing going!

I guess you can kickstarter anything. Time to work on that new bathroom I want.

Not meant to insult you Nick. But honestly there are better ways to start up a business.

Who's they? Do you need approval to have a table at a flea market? Not around here anyways...

They as in Kickstarter, they evaluate your story and reasons for wanting to do the project. I apologize by implying I just simply said "Yeah I want to start a business, give me money." There's more to it than that.

Yes, there is probably a better way to start a business, no lie, but when your hours are cut at your regular job and despite your education (Not bragging, but two Masters Degrees) you can't get a job in your field, you try to explore other avenues.

Thanks for the input, guys!

Hmmm, are you tied down to your location (home, family, etc)?

I just can't see a guy with two masters enjoying the penny-ante life of the flea market / small game shop scene, unless it is a passion of yours, that is.

I agree, you need to do something though, so good yr willing to keep plugging away.

You may want to go the "new members introduce yourself" thread, else it just looks like another stop 'n go membership, which doesn't serve your kickstarter or our forum.

Hope you stick around and good luck.

I think a small game store, maybe with an online component would work really well. What are your two Masters in?

I am sorry dude, your intentions seem completely sincere but your kickstarter doesn't seem to have any structure for rewards. Just saying you can have any game from these systems without a list to choose from makes no sense. You can't just hope to have what a backer wants. It's going to end up costing you more than they put in if they want the wrong games. You need to rethink things.
"The librarian does not rue the library, nor the curator fear the exhibits. Rather they revel in their potential. And that is the beauty of a big backlog; pure potential." - Exhuminator
