I have a few classics compilations on the PS2 and PS1 with a bunch of really good games on them, but I'm wanting to expand into stuff that was never released outside of Japan. So, I figured ask everyone here in hopes of being put in the right direction.
About the only ones that I'm aware of right now are the Konami MSX series of compilations, and the Sega Ages games. Are there any other ones of note that were only released in Japan that would be worth tracking down? =)

Re: Japan-Only Classics Compilations?
Are you meaning classics compilations which were only released in Japan, or compilations of classic games which previously were Japan-only but are now being released in the West via said compilation?

The PC Engine Best Collections come to mind right away.
Star Soldier Collection
Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Collection (Sapphire being the main draw)
Tengai Makyou Collection
There's also a ton of games games in the "Simple" series line, although not all of them are Japan exclusive.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I mean classic compilations which were only released in Japan.

If you don't have a GameCube, try Sonic Gems Collection. It wasn't released on the PS2 in the States.

The Sunsoft Memorial series is a good choice, I would check it out.

Taito Memories (4 in all) -- many of those games were put into Taito Legends 1 & 2 here, but many Taito games not found on them are in those compilations. Exclusive to PS2 in Japan.

The Falcom Classics titles on Sega Saturn are amazing.
Also the Saturn Phantasy Star Collection contains all 4 games (not just 1-3 like the GBA collection we got in the states).
