Or how about just Release one, maybe two Madden games every generation for every platform, then just release paid roster updates? EA can still adhere to its penny-pinching ways, and the games market doesn't undergo the biggest scam in the history of the industry.Jmustang1968 wrote:Yes. Also CoD, I find it hard to believe people actually buy it for the single player! (i would, because fuck multi-player) i always just suspected people bought it, threw it in their Xbox's and hit the multi-player with totally ignoring the meat of the game!
Those who don't play the games are the ones who call it a roster update.
I would go for a release every 2 years to cut down on bugs and have a more polished end product. Current gen games have become more complex and makes the 1 year windows tough. However it sells too well and the nfl requires a yearly release.

if people are willing to spend $60 on a new game each year, what would be EA's motivation to stop supplying such a product? I'm always slightly baffled why gamers (presumably ones who don't buy Madden games) are so upset about the games. The dudes spending their money on them are obviously happy enough to do so. Well what do you know? I got my wish, and it only took a few hours for EA to comply.BoringSupreez wrote:Medal of Honor: Once upon a time, COD was a MOH imitator. Because clearly the resources being spent on a new Madden are resources that would overwise be spent on another Deus Ex. Thus, Madden is directly causing us to not have another Deus Ex.noiseredux wrote:if people are willing to spend $60 on a new game each year, what would be EA's motivation to stop supplying such a product? Madden and other sports game have fans that expect yearly updates... probably more so that any other genre or group of gamers.
Although in todays world I could imagine the game could be delivered as more of an unified platform that receives yearly dlc updates that brings it up to date with the new features gamers expect. That way gamers bought one game and updated it with DLC each year. But even though that may be possible or even logical, it simply wouldn't make the money EA can by releasing a new game each year.

Madden will likely never die so long as consoles and gaming exists, its been going strong since its first release on the Commodore 64 up to the Genesis up to now. It's basically synonymous with saying "football".

They actually want to move to an unified system with patches and upgrades, they just haven't found how to do it and not lose sales on the process.

Yeah I really don't understand the hate for the Nintendo IP titles. I mean Zelda hasn't really progressed at all since the n64 era, but I've enjoyed each game thoroughly. Even skyward sword was decent. I really can't understand hating franchises. I mean, he'll I don't like COD, but that doesn't necessarily mean I hate it. Allot people enjoy it and it doesn't necessarily hurt me in any way. Oh yeah the rev was a terrible drummer.
