If I wanted to watch a love story, I'd watch a chick flick. I watch super-hero movies for good action and cool special effects, and hopefully a good story (but that's not always the case with super-hero movies, unfortunately).

This is Peter Parker we're talking about. There's always a love story with that character. Heck, most super hero movies have one. It's ironic to complain about chick flick love stories when there's one in practically every super hero movie that comes out these days. Ironman, The Dark Knight, the Christopher Reeves Superman movies, Kickass, Thor, Captain America, etc.

It looks good, but that's about it.

Rushed, empty, no likeable characters, unsatifactory ending...

You want torture porn? Watch Hostel or Saw instead...

Last night, my wife and I watched:

It is a bare-bones spy thriller, and the female lead - Gina Carano - is both achingly beautiful and completely terrifying. (I am a pretty big guy, and I am 100% sure that she could kick my ass...) She is also, unfortunately, a rather wooden actress - which works at some times during the film and does not work at other times. That said, she is quite the martial artist, and the all of the fights are very good. (The first fight, which take place in a diner in upstate New York shocked me with both the brutality of the attack against the female lead and the brutality of her response to it. It literally took my breathe away.) Also, with Steven Soderbergh directing, the film contains many beautiful, well-crafted shots. Nonetheless, the film ended with a fizzle, and it could have used (at least) one more car chase; so, I cannot recommend it without reservations. If you are seeking a spare espionage film with a very compelling lead and some excellent fight sequences, however, I do think that you will find it enjoyable.

Yeah, there's always a love interest in the story. I don't have a problem with that. I was just saying I don't go to a super-hero movie for that reason, which is what you were saying was the only reason you watched Amazing Spider-Man, and even went as far as saying you don't care about the villains.

And I never said I can't stand seeing women in wrestling. I said there's no point in watching women in wrestling TODAY. And I added that until I see the quality of matches I saw from Lita, Chyna, and Trish Stratus, then there's no reason to pay attention to WWE's Divas. And this isn't the first time you've brought this up. You seem to painting me up as a sexist a-hole, and that's not the case with this Divas thing. I just want to see quality, not a bunch of talentless Barbies getting into hair-pulling matches over who's the prettiest.

Mostly just a live performance of songs from the first two seasons, and also showing the lives of three teenagers whose lives where changed because of Glee.

Interesting side-note: The director of the concert movie, Kevin Tancheroen, is probably best known to Racketboy members as the director of the online series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, the second season of which will also feature Glee's Harry Shum Jr as the younger Sub-Zero (as first seen in MK2), as well as next year's (?) big-screen Mortal Kombat film reboot.

Wrong
Consider me intrigued. It looks like quirky done right.

LITTLE MONSTERS later today. Not having an onion and PB sandwich with it though. Probably MONSTER SQUAD later.

From Star Wars to Jedi - the best behind the scenes of the Original Trilogy. It came out around the time of ROTJ so its very heavy on that - specifically Jabbas Palace.

It made me realize something in that both A New Hope and Battlestar Galactica have a very similar message. They are both about how technology is not always needed and how over reliance on it can be a very bad thing. Which is funny since they were both technical marvels...

Throwing paper cut outs in front of a blue screen and putting fire crackers in models were "marvels"?
