Advice on finishing touches for my collection list?

Post by goldenpp72 »

So the community here seems pretty enthusiastic and knowledgeable on both niche and mainstream titles, so I figured I could ask for some help here. Over years I have been trying to collect what would basically be a great representation of my own taste on each console I plan to own. I like most genres, excluding sports, sim racers (most racers really), and being a bit picky on rpgs (I don't go too niche into this genre). I do try to collect series I enjoy in full, but I am only focusing on collecting in the US right now as well. Some series like Mark of the Kri being related to Rise of the Kasai for example, I simply don't know everything :P

With that said, when it comes to systems like the Master system, Game gear, Game boy, Neo Geo Pocket Color or Turbo Graphx, I simply don't know a lot about their line ups, not enough to come up with a good solid list for each. I was wondering if the community here could perhaps sift through my list of stuff to collect, and perhaps list something potentially worth looking at? Pictures, videos, reviews, any resource on a title would be awesome even if it's just a name and some praise.

I know it's a bit tedious but I would definitely appreciate any advice, here is a work in progress list I came up with (Keep in mind, red means I do not own it and am either hunting it or in the process of researching it based on some interest, black is stuff I have). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... utput=html

Edit: I'm also open to other consoles potentially but, these are the only ones I owned as a child or wished I could own, so it's based on that :)

Too many titles, maybe try the Guides Section right below the Racketboy Title?

To the right, there is a drop down box based on systems.

I've definitely used the racket boy guides to great success (it's how I discovered the site after all) but figured some personal users might have their own opinions to share, or simply stuff not mentioned. I am browsing them still but it's a bit daunting. I do realize it's a lot of stuff, but if one enthusiast for one console still post their opinions, then it allows me to kind of finish fortifying. Stuff on more modern consoles I think I have a great handle on, but with a lot of these launching during my childhood, I just thought it would be odd to have 100 360 titles and like, 40 on the Snes. It might seem weird but it almost feels like i'd not be doing it justice if I didn't at least try to represent the best of them in my collection, especially since I play most stuff :)

I know its not about the consoles you mentioned, but have you considered Custom Robo on the gamecube? And by extension its sequel, Custom Robo Arena on the DS?

Also, a bit of an unkown, but Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for the Game Boy Color (not the GBA) is a suprisingly good game. Its a full an RPG, so if you like the Harry Potter franchise at all check it out as its arguably the best game based on that franchise.

When I saw your post I was thinking I had chibi robo and didn't realize it was something different :P I'll look into em now since I don't know what they are. Harry potter I actually recall hearing about a long time ago, but I probably wouldn't go after games in that series since I get the itch to 'finish' series, heh.
