Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Check to see what inputs it has. For $50 I'd make sure it has enough inputs in the back to suit your taste, so at least two composite inputs and hopefully two component inputs.
Edit: didn't see the first link. It's worth it!

Like I said, I've got one of those. A quick googling pulled up this image:o.pwuaioc wrote:Check to see what inputs it has. For $50 I'd make sure it has enough inputs in the back to suit your taste, so at least two composite inputs and hopefully two component inputs.

There's plenty of inputs.

Nice. There's one for sale in my area too but the seller wants $80.AppleQueso wrote:Like I said, I've got one of those. Yeah, I posted what I posted before seeing his first link to the model number. That's definitely enough inputs to make me happy, and $50 is definitely worth it.AppleQueso wrote:Like I said, I've got one of those. The DVI input can easily be adapted to a HDMI cable, but separate RCA audio cables need to be hooked up. The two RF inputs are switched only by the Remote. Only certain model WEGA Remotes have the ANT button, something to watch for when buying used. That spare RF input is great, it can be set to channel 3 for the Atari or other older coaxial only consoles.o.pwuaioc wrote:Yeah, I posted what I posted before seeing his first link to the model number. You are GOING TO NEED HELP MOVING IT. 185 lbs monster right there.
I think that's the same model of WEGA that I have. Wish mine wasn't broken though.
@ AppleQueso - Not sure if I asked you before, Is your dead TV related to the Power Detection Chips? Anyone investing in a Trinitron WEGA should keep a set of spares on hand.
@ AznKhmerBoi - Well worth the fifty bucks! Only be sure to test the power on and off a couple of times to ensure reliability. Just not too many on off cycles to cause issues in case you buy it. Even though that WEGA is a widescreen, the HD CRT is more forgiving to the lower resolution of Retro consoles compared to LCDs. You also gain the HD screen for newer consoles and movies.

I mentioned that fix to you long before you ever needed to do it yourself.CRTGAMER wrote: @ AppleQueso - Not sure if I asked you before, Is your dead TV related to the Power Detection Chips? Anyone investing in a Trinitron WEGA should keep a set of spares on hand.
Replaced those chips in mine twice. Nothin'.

Niiiiiiiiccceee!!!!
I assume that's the tabletop version? I don't know that much about D&D - I just have the core 4.0 red box.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The latest Game Informer had an article dedicated to a new Sega Genesis RPG called "Pier Solar", and it looked freaking fantastic. It looked like a SNES RPG, to the T. It got me all kinds of excited. So I went to look for it online. Apparently the website no longer sells the cartridges directly. The cheapest copy on eBay was $150, and the cheapest copy on Amazon is $800!
Thanks a lot Game Informer for getting us the information 2 years too late for anyone to reasonably be able to afford it.
