Beautiful
"Why...why are you talking like that?"

That's gotta be the first thing I'd say if I ran into Nolan's Batman in real life

"What do you mean who is this? It's Bruce. Who else has this number?"

In that case, you guys would love this.

It really picks up at around #50.

You know, I expected a graphic rape scene. And I got several put together in one long, disturbing sequence. With the exception of the middle one, where I think the actor had some kind of seizure while he was supposedly raping the lead. Seriously. But as for the film...ugh, that was difficult to watch. Especially the scene in the bathroom with the knife...I'm never bathing with a woman ever again. He deserved it, but oh dear God.

The remake actually makes the rape tamer (Thank god! The rapes in the original take about 30 minutes of the runtime and at one point you start to feel like Jennifer) but the revenge goes full on with the sadism and gore. The castration is even worse, there's a kill involving acid, a shotgun sodomization, forced consumption of a rat, etc. .

I like the original more and I love the fact that there isn't any sort of soundtrack and that moment after the bath scene where she sits in the rocking chair while listening to Puccini while the camera focuses on her face is absolutely terrifying. It's as good as an exploitation film can be.

BTW Have you seen Ms. 45?

"A guy who has a cellphone, inside his body, which is a bomb. A tiny bomb capable of blowing up an entire building, but conveniently doesn't kill the Joker."
It didn't really blow up the building, and the bomb was in a separate room from the joker. The Joker was further from the explosion than everyone else. Also, I'm not positive, but I believe the cell phone was just the trigger to the actual bomb. He had a lot of lumps in his stomach.
"When arrested, the Joker has about a dozen knives on him. You think they would do a more thorough search, but yet the Joker keeps a cop hostage with, you got it, another knife."
He is actually holding a broken piece of glass to the cop's neck, not a knife.

"After a huge "upgrade" in armor, Batman still gets stabbed in the stomach by the Joker."
Well his goal was to move quicker, and Lucius tells him with the new suit he'll be more vulnerable to knives and gunfire.
"How could a criminal on trial bring a gun into a courtroom? And when disarmed, why would Dent give the gun to the defendant? "
I believe he unloaded it and was shoving it in Maroni's face because it was made in china. Still not the best move though.
"How in the hell does the batpod get out of the nearly indestructible batmobile?"
It like. . . morphs. . . and . . . was it in there in batman begins? I don't know, it was badass though. I really like how it was very machine like and clunky to eject it, as opposed to fast, elegant, way too close up and illogical like transformers.

You get an A for effort!

Going to see old Arnie tonight. I'll have the NC State game on my mobile (closed theater) in case it is as bad as it looks.

Great, but I probably would have loved it more if I wasn't aware of how great it is.

Paranormal Activity 4

I liked it but it definetely dragged out in many parts. The ending sucks and I have to say that there's no way they can continue the same story.

Also, it made Kinect terrifying.

Saw a couple of new things this weekend.

On Saturday I saw Django Unchained, which met, and in some cases, exceeded expectations.

On Sunday, my friend visiting from Chicago decided he wanted to see a movie and we finally settled on Gangster Squad. I thought it was pretty good, definitely entertaining enough that I didn't feel like we'd wasted our money, but I can see how some people were disappointed with it. The previews do a little too good a job of getting you interested, but the movie doesn't quite meet it's expectation. Still a fun film, though.

After Gangster Squad, we went back to a friend's house and watched Expendables 2. Now that was entertaining as hell. The plot may have been a little thin (I wasn't expecting it to be deep), but I felt the humor made up for it. We were all rolling by the time Norris showed up.

THE LAST STAND

Arnold should have never gotten into politics nor have gotten back into acting (cameos aside). Johnny Knoxville should not be in any movie. He has the charm of Roseanne Barr but none of her talent to carry a role.

It's an action movie you've already seen a hundred times and doesn't improve on anything. Yes, there is plenty of action, but it is missing an action star. Clint Eastwood can pull off "I may have a subscription to AARP, but I can still kick your A S S", Arnold can't (so far). Ol' leatherboobs seems forced to be a bad-ass and it comes off as a gimmick.

*looks through notes*

Ah! The production value is crap. Why Arnold would attempt a comeback with this film mystifies me. The film looks and feels cheap. When your last starring role was in T3 why would you ever make a movie that looks like something Vin Diesel would pass on? I had zero expectations for THE LAST STAND and they certainly were met.
