No sir. The article gets some basic facts wrong (the leaderboard device is not built into the system), but this is definitely coming. You can find more info over on Nintendo Age.

Duke.Togo is right. The leaderboard is called Scoreboard, and will be built into the next POWERPAK, not the HDMI toploader NES. I wish he would put up a preorder system of somesort because Id give him the money as soon as I could for one.

No pricing yet, but toploaders go for $50-100, so probably in the $200ish range. Which, as crazy as it sounds, is well worth it.
