Because no top 5 list of all-time-best PC games is complete without Out of the Park Baseball 2007.

The problem is that outside of platformers, Zelda and RPGs, most of the good Wii games are "good for a Wii game", rather than just good games (case in point see Zero Punctuation's The Conduit review)
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

"Platformers" and "RPGs" are pretty broad categories, and two of my favorite genres.

Nope. Can't do it. This dude's reviews are grating beyond belief.

If you are alluding that they are stuck to the Wii due to the Wiimote, this maybe no longer true due to PS3 Move and 360 Kinect. Well, the Kinect is hands free, but the Move could easily match to the Wiimote gameplay style.

THIS. A ton of gems and not just the big common names to discover thru the piles. There are a lot of good Wii games that should have a Classic Controller option. There are also some good games that do use the traditional controls. Both can easily be converted to the other consoles and maintain a similar style of control.

I am going to third this. The Wii is a great platform for retro gamers. There are just so many hidden gems in its library. (For example, I started playing The Kore Gang last night...it is like a lost Psychonauts spin-off, and I love it!) Moreover, its exclusives are more diverse than the exclusives on other consoles (i.e., only a very small number involve soldiers or space marines.) Finally - and perhaps most importantly from the perspective of a collector - a lot of games that would only be available for download on the Xbox 360 and Ps3 received physical releases on the Wii. Without those, how I am supposed to play Groovin' Blocks 10 years from now?

Yeah, I found that pretty useless.

It's just too general.

Okay, so the PS3 has 106 "good" exclusives while the Xbox 360 has 103.

That doesn't tell me much. What if I only like SRPGs and tactical shooters, and the PS3 has 5 "good" ones while the Xbox has 55?

Or what if I only like sports games and the PS3 has 20 "good" ones while the Xbox has 2?

And, as I think someone else mentioned, it doesn't take into account that cross-platform games are not equal on all consoles. If the Xbox 360 has only 20 exclusives I want while the PS3 has 30, but the Xbox 360 plays 50 different cross-platform titles better than the PS3, I probably would buy an Xbox 360 over a PS3.

I would say that the results would have to be broken down considerably more before they would be applicable to most gamers.

I don't think this article was supposed to be a guide for people just now wanting to get into these systems. It's just a "hey these are the trends, kinda neat huh?" thing.

Exactly, this obviously isn't meant to be scientific. Personally, I don't agree with the choice of Metacritic to support the numbers; however, the trends are still interesting to note.
