In the past I would get all angry and cynical about this sort of news, now I just think, "That's Activision for ya..." and move on. As much as I'd like to be surprised and up and arms about this, I just can't because it's so totally their MO.

*sigh* I guess it's up to me to be the guy with some hope for the game here?

Idk, having poor graphics and a commercial with the actor's promoting the game isn't enough for me to instantly say the development must not be going well. :/

I don't get it? What is wrong with experiencing something in first person? You are just making yourself look like a total tool/hipster by immediately hating something before it is even released simply because it is in first person.

Several of these guys severely dislike first person shooters. It's unfortunate, as they miss out on some great games, but that is their loss.

For me, this wouldn't be a bad experience if the gameplay were similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in handling inventory, scavenging for resources, etc. Just think about how successful it could be as a sandbox open world, where players must navigate house to house for food, ammunition, tools, fuel, etc. Not that I expect it will have that sort of gameplay, but it would make for an interesting experience of trying to survive in such an apocalyptic setting.

According to Metacritic the game has like a 36/100 general score. Watching an LP of it on Youtube, and personally it looks like more of a 6/10.

The combat seems solid, the voicework by the two main character's is superb (Though the writing for Daryl isn't quite up to the show's standard), and ammo actually IS really scarce. Sure, the graphic's aren't pretty and the animations are awkward looking. But so are they in Skyrim.

So yeah, I'm gonna give this a few week's so the price drops and then pick up a copy. Looks like a solid but slightly unimaginative game.

And to everyone saying that a Walking Dead FPS is "the wrong genre" or whatever... The fuck are you talking about? The TV show and comic's both have plenty of action AND drama. The Telltale adventure game focused mainly on the drama, why would you deny a game that tries to be based on the other half of the original property? That's ridiculous.
