God, that would be amazing, but that was developed by Cave, so I'm not sure if that would happen sadly.pierrot wrote:Is it just me, or does it look like one of the shadows in the top right is a biplane?
Should I not be getting my hopes up for a Progear re-release?

I think i can see Sir Arthur in one of the shadows...

Who says this'll be a one package deal? From what I was reading here and around it sounds like this'll be basically some kind of program/emulator and they'll release games separately. If that's the case, yuck. Knowing Capcom they'll be sure to nickel and dime everyone as much as they can. Also digital only kind of sucks. Granted if this is the case, and the prices are good, and the selection is stuff we haven't seen... then that could be alright. But yeah I'd rather just have something like the awesome Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection.

this was my first thought. The Capcom Classics, and maybe the stuff on the Mega Man collections.dsheinem wrote:if it includes stuff not on Capcom Classics Collection volumes I'd be shocked.

I'm mainly pulling for Armored Warriors and a few other obscure beat'em ups. I'm sure you're right about them not bothering with licensed stuff like Alien vs. Predator though, which is a shame.dsheinem wrote:What good unlicensed Capcom arcade games haven't already appeared in a compilation? I don't see them spending any more money on a compilation than they have to since they generally aren't big money makers, so the idea of them doing more than slapping stuff they have already ported and/or they have have full rights too seems unlikely to me.Gunstar Green wrote:There are so many damned amazing left in the arcade games that they could bring home with this. Fingers are crossed.
In any case if it includes Armored Warriors and or Cyberbots (this one at least had a PS and Saturn release and is probably more likely given the popularity of Jin Saotome due to MvC), I'll be a happy camper.
Re: Capcom Re-Releases Classics for Its 30th Anniversary!
Yeah, I was probably only a quarter serious, but Cave is releasing an Xbox 360 anthology of sorts, so maybe they coordinated something with Capcom at the same time. Highly unlikely, but that shadow is going to haunt me for a while.soul_hacker wrote:God, that would be amazing, but that was developed by Cave, so I'm not sure if that would happen sadly.pierrot wrote:Is it just me, or does it look like one of the shadows in the top right is a biplane?

I'm in the camp that will be shocked if it has anything not already reissued in the Capcom Classics Collections, though if the price is right...
NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL

Re: Capcom Re-Releases Classics for Its 30th Anniversary!
I'm real curious as to what non-licensed Capcom titles can be put on this that weren't on the Classics Collections.
Let's break it down -
Volume 1 (if it had Varth and 1941 Counter Attack on this it would be the best one to get!)
1942
1943: The Battle of Midway
1943 Kai
Bionic Commando
Commando
Exed Exes
Final Fight
Forgotten Worlds
Ghosts'n Goblins
Ghouls'n Ghosts
Gun.Smoke
Legendary Wings
Mercs
Pirate Ship Higemaru
Section Z
SonSon
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Ghouls'n Ghosts
Trojan
Vulgus
Volume 2
1941: Counter Attack
Avengers
Black Tiger
Block Block
Captain Commando
Eco Fighters
The King of Dragons
Knights of the Round
Last Duel
Magic Sword
Mega Twins
Quiz & Dragons: Capcom Quiz Game
Side Arms Hyper Dyne
Street Fighter
Strider
Super Street Fighter II Turbo
The Speed Rumbler
Three Wonders
Tiger Road
Varth: Operation Thunderstorm
That leaves us with.... not many left. I can think of a few but unless they dig a bit further back and add a bunch more fighting games left off these 2 sets, this will probably just be a rehash. But hey, at least nearly all their shmups made it on these except for the licensed ones, it's cool

Re: Capcom Re-Releases Classics for Its 30th Anniversary!
So here's the deal (the first pack comes out today, but i'm tempted to just buy them game-by-game)

These were on the different Capcom collections on PS2 but the article does note:Black Tiger
1943: Battle of Midway
Avengers
Ghosts ‘n Goblins
Gun.Smoke
Section Z
Side Arms
Legendary Wings
Trojan
The Speed Rumbler
Exed Exes
Commando
1942
SonSon
Pirate Ship Higemaru
but these new versions will come with online multiplayer and leaderboards, full dip-switch settings, unlockable bonus artwork, and a new 'Casual Mode' for each game which makes them easier and makes other changes
