Thanks! I started my 2600 collection about a month ago, and I to date I have been collecting in "reverse". That is, I have acquired a lot of post-crash 2600 games from the late '80s (and early '90s!) and - other than the games that came with my system - almost no games from the late '70s and early '80s. I have games like Xenophobe, but titles like Defender and Warlords have so far eluded me.

In any event, I am happy to add River Raid II to my collection. Now, all I need to do is track down a copy of its much more common predecessor.

Finally, congrats to J_Wil on picking up Spy vs. Spy. I had the chance to pick up that game some time ago for $3. I passed, and it has eluded - and taunted - me ever since. (Also, Hots Shot Golf 3 is a GREAT game, and my roommates and I spent a lot of time with it in college. Crack that thing open - along with a case of beer - and spend a lazy Sunday afternoon enjoying it with a few friends (and a Jack Johnson album). You will not regret it.

Hot Shots is also 2 cents at Gamestop for those that want to find it. It was supposed to be destroyed, but Im sure plenty of GS out there have copies left over.

Dropped by the local flea market. Picked a Game Gear with Columns for 5 euros. To my surprise it powers up and boots up the game, which is moire that my previous 2 GGs used to do before I changed their caps. It needs to have them changed too but I bought it for spare parts anyway.

Then I picked up a boxed Arabic clone of the Atari 2600 for 10 euros. I actually got it just for the two included 3 meter long joystick extension cables to use with my Genesis/Master System/Commodore. Turns out that the blessed thing is actually pretty great despite being light as a feather. It has a few dozen inbuilt games (a few don't work), plays my PAL carts perfectly and has a cleaner RF output than my actual Ataris. It's original joysticks were replaced with 2 microswitched Quickshot 2 joysticks which work just fine as well.

Cool, I've been trying to find an Atari-on-a-chip clone for a while. I've seen pictures of the things online but never found where I could get one. I wish somebody would release one in the west that isn't the AtGames Flashback.

 WOW! Very nice find! This seems to beat the US Flashback 2 since it already has a cart slot! Do you have an official 2600 for comparison of the emulation? I'm curious if it will also work with Paddle and Driving Controller games. Though a Genesis gamepad works in a regular 2600, I would not chance frying your clone due to the reputation of Commodore 64s being damaged.

Please post a full review of the clone listing the internal games and maybe include additional pictures. The Arabic 2600 clone really looks worth searching for anyone in PAL countries.

Now this is interesting. There is also another clone listed with a cart slot and 128 games built in!

This is an Arabic Atari 2600 clone with 64 games built-in.

I have not hooked up my official 2600 and the clone side by side but after playing for an hour of so I have not noticed any obvious differences in sound, graphics or gameplay. Everything seems to be spot on. It does not work with C64 paddles unlike an actual 2600. I will have to look for my Atari paddles and try those.
I like the idea of a full review and will try to do one over the next week or so. Listing the internal games might be a problem since I hardly recognize any of them and the supplied list is totally made up. A few of them don't even work.

Thanks, looking forward to the review for this uncommon find. I have all three Flashbacks and have not done the cart slot mod on FB2 due to risk of damage and losing its exclusive Yars Returns game.

A shame the C64 paddles do not work, not optimistic 2600 paddles would work either since they are identical internally. However, maybe the resitance in the 2600 paddles might be different enough to work? Nice owning the C64 paddles, more uncommon then the 2600 versions.

Forgot the clone is in Arabic, so I guess on the screen the Game Menu Listing is also in Arabic? In addition to closer pics of the unit, maybe screenshots of each Menu Page when you do the Review? Someone might be able to decipher it. Would be a kick if some of the built in games are rarities.

made my rounds to various stores today, came up with at least a couple things.

First was at Goodwill, while digging through the mess of stuff I spotted a 3rd party saturn controller for $4 bucks, I gladly grabbed it, then I caught an official model 2 saturn controller for another 4 bucks. I was super happy to finally get a model 2 controller. I then spent the next few minutes tearing up the area looking for the Saturn these might have belonged to, but came up short. That should put me at 4 or 5 controllers, hoping to maybe get enough to try out 10 player bomber man.

While looking I did find this arcade stick, it is literally the worst stick I have ever seen, the buttons could only be described as feeling like elevator buttons. Normally I wouldnt pass on a stick, but I feel my 5 bucks was better spent elsewhere.

Then at my local used game/music store I got Tetris DX for 2.99, and The next Tetris (dreamcast) for 3.99.

Actually there is no Menu at all. There is a switch at the back which flips between two sets of inbuilt games and a lever at the front skips to the next game in the set. So if you want to play the 10th game in the set you have to push the lever until you get to it. I simply don't know any of the games included except Combat.
Yesterday my 6 year old son actually put down the iPad on which he was playing Spider-Man and asked me if he can play with the Atari instead. We had a fun time playing Combat and a 2 player Frogger clone featuring 2 rabbits.
