Frown: This week was kind of rough

Smile: Spending the evening with my girl friend and her daughter tonight. I'm going to introduce her kid to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, complete with Bongos. I may or may not get some extremely stern looks from my lady this evening when she realizes how the game is played (loudly).

You may get stern looks, but nothing will warm her heart more than seeing you interacting with her child and taking an interest. Good on you. Have fun!

Stark has a point. A lot of guys don't feel comfortable dating girls that have kids. Showing an interest in her kid will definitely help you.

Haha I remember by brother playing Donkey Kong Jungle Beat while his wife tried to take a nap.

It did not end well.

I've actually been dating her for about 3 months or so now and her daughter and I get along pretty well. This is the first time I've ever dated a girl with kids and it has definitely taken some getting used to. Fortunately, the kid is pretty cool. I bought her the Munchkin card game for Christmas and now she beats me at it no less than twice a week. I wish I could say I was letting her win.

Frown: Evening plans got kinda turned upside down. My girlfriend's sister took my offer to cook dinner (turkey breast tacos with goat cheese, spinach and tomato with spring mix salad and mandarin oranges) as an invitation to invite four other people to dinner. Without telling anyone. Or seeing if it was okay.

...wee bit frustrating.

That only doubles the amount of food you need to prepare, why would that be a problem?

I only use good ingredients. Good ingredients cost money. Sounds petty but I just wanted a quiet evening with a few people, not a trip to the store for more groceries and then an hour cooking for a bunch of strangers.

You already know, but you did an amazing thing. Your compassion warmed my heart today -- after thawing its initial freeze over the circumstances, of course. I seriously do not understand how people can abandon animals like this, if this was in fact deliberately done. LOOK AT THOSE FACES. Poor babies. So glad you were there to find them.

Smile/Frown/Shock: Discovered my first grey hair today.
