Thunderbirds has some HORRENDOUS hit detection but the story is actually pretty good and all the vehicles from the series make appearances, if you're old enough to remember it. Thundercade is sadly a MICRONICS port, so it just sucks. Stick with the arcade version. (oh why oh why did they have to port EXEDEXES too?)
Despite your warnings, I ended up buying Exed Exes for the Famicom anyway. I don't have a FC system set up, but I'm fairly certain it'll be the first game I play when I do. Just for the hell of it.

Been playing Castle of Shikigami 2 like a good SotM participant. And then I decided to play a little Triggerheart Exelica to chill out. Before I thought Castle of Shikigami 2 felt slower on PS2 at times compared to DC, but after some more play I think they're very close.

On the other hand, Triggerheart Exelica on the PS2 feels real slow. Could be wrong again. I'll have to do a little comparing on DC and 360. I swear the DC version doesn't crawl as much in most sections. The 360 version I am not sure. But scoring is definitely different in the DC version.
My B/S/T thread! :)

I played a little Castle of Shikigami 2 the other night (PS2). Can't get past that level where the walls close in on you.

I'd give it a try anyway, hashiriya played it when it was up in October and got a good score on it. I think there are more points to be had in that port.

Playing Shiki 2 on the dreamcast inspired me to play some Ikaruga. Such a cool game, but it feels more like a puzzle game than a shmup at times.

I also tried out some Gunlord on the DC and I'm pretty impressed so far.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Strike Gunner S.T.G (SNES) - The game mechanics seem solid, but my god are the levels dull. And they never seem to end! I think I shut the game off around stage 4, out of sheer boredom. I'll give this one another go someday.

The Monkey King: The Legend Begins (Wii) - I got this for two dollars. I guess it's some sort of sequel to Cloud Master, the old SMS game. Monkey King is okay, it controls fine and seems challenging enough. The main problem I have is that you're totally boned if you lose a life. Your default speed is wretchedly slow, and you need at least 3 speed power-ups to even have the slightest chance of escaping enemies. I lost a life in stage 4 and was then caught in a constant loop of death because I could never collect speed power-ups quick enough. This is one of those games where you simply need to not die.
