Sad that they had to cuss in it, but it wasnt super terrible. Just not what it should have been. No need for all the interplay between the humans, we dont care about any human in a Sonic movie except Eggman.

Wasn't he the voice of Sonic in the TV show?
He was the voice of Sonic in both TV shows. :P
He was the voice of Sonic in THREE TV shows.

Yeah so, I'm going to give the movie some credit first:

The E-102's were pretty cool. The most believable CG creation in the movie.
The buzz bombers were pretty well done too.
The shots of the ships going over the city were fairly cool as well.
I assume there was nearly 0 budget and I think one guy did all the CG (could be wrong)

Ok, but beyond the "it's decent considering. . ." it's just not very good.

From the second that Epic Trilogy sounding music started up, I knew they were taking the subject material way too seriously.

Robotnik (and the whole movie) feels inspired by the saturday morning robotnik, who was a bit darker than his counterparts. But even that Robotnik always had a devious grin on his face. This Robotnik just comes across as an evil terrorist with no real insanity to him. It's just way too serious of a take on the character.

The acting. . .

Sonic didn't feel very fast. All the physics behind him blowing up robots were awkward. And that mouth, why does sonic look like a muppet?

Sonic and Robotnik never had a scene together, wha?

The dialogue. It really feels like they never even got any feedback from a real writer. Sonic smashes a robot, looks at the dude on the ground, and says "cool, huh?".

Even though the runtime is less than twenty minutes, if you took a shot anytime an actor looked aimlessly to the sky you could destroy your liver.

So it's true to its source material at least.
