You can order a pizza I don't want at 1am and then ask me "I only have Australasian Dollars, you can get this right?"
Wait. Your "friend" came and visited you in Chicago of all places and ordered Pizza Hut?

Originally from Chicago, living in eastern NC.

I say with no hesitation saying that my friends in the windy city would have led him to the wrong el line.

Speaking of pizza, that "pie" cost me nearly $20 and the "Italian sausage" was anything but. I'm not kidding. I'd rather taste a pizza topped with sliced slim-jims.

^That may just happen one day. Doritos Tacos exist, why not a slim jim pizza?

Fuck that guy. Not only would he have been thrown out before he drank himself a final forced night stay, he would never be welcome again.

I eventually had to give up on a friend that was constantly fucking up. He never did anything outright rude to me like that, but I just couldn't take his "I'm sorry, I'll do better next time" any more. I believe he was earnestly sorry, but he just made so many bad decisions all the time and I couldn't be around him any more.

Increasing drug use. Generally not kinds one can easily OD on, but still. Marrying a woman that was a terrible person, but apparently a good lay and participated in his drug habit. Being fired from many jobs because of said drug habit. Having a child with the terrible woman. Screwing up his credit rating and such so bad that he couldn't even get a home phone. Note that this was before cell phones were affordable and available prepaid. He ended up getting a phone in his kid's name, who was 3 or 4 at the time, so possibly screwing up his kid's financial future as well as lying. I didn't know it at the time, but he shoplifted a lot.

That's just what I can think of off the top of my head. :?

Smile: my PVM got shipped.

PISSED OFF: The seller listed UPS Ground on the eBay listing, and then sent it via fedex. I fucking hate fedex... every package I get through them looks like someone tried to play teeball with it and couldn't hit the ball. I swear to god if they break this monitor someone will have hell to pay. My friend who has worked for both carriers describes fedex as "pretty much the same as UPS, except UPS actually has standards."

edit: bah. ebay has no shipping calculator for fedex, so the seller had to specify UPS for the shipping costs to calculate. If I knew how to read, the listing did say fedex. The seller assured me he packs these monitors really well and he'll replace it if there's an issue. whew.

Sounds like a dude I know... yikes.

But yeah, there comes a point when you just have to tell yourself some people are toxic. My relationship with this said friend has been much better over the last two years or so when I finally stopped caring and pushed him very far away in my mind. The gate is closed at this point and I'm moving on and not putting up with the shit anymore, if he's not changing too bad, I'm not sticking around or waiting anymore. Not dragging me down.
