AVGN taken down from Youtube.

The AVGN channel was recently taken down from youtube, I imagine due to the gameplay footage (and footage from films), he must have helped youtube rake in some serious cash via ad revenue. Someone may have beat me to this topic.

This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Terms of Service.

First the SEGA stuff, now this, Youtube is fast becoming useless unless you just make a vblog. Discuss.

Frankly, I'm just tired of big companies being so stingy and controlling with regards to content these days. Like selfish little children who don't want to share anything with the other kids. It's just so aggravating how much copyright has become such a big, goddamn issue in this day and age. Some day you won't be able to whistle a tune from an album without someone throwing you to the ground and arresting you for copyright infringement

I doubt you'd be arrested for infringing youtube videos anyway, but yeah I pretty much agree.

I don't see how any of this sort of bullying is particularly beneficial to the actual content owners either, especially with how quickly they move from one thing to the next anyway.

Apparently this might be the result of some trolls/morons who were really angry about the Cheetahmen II kickstarter for some reason.

From what I understand, it's not hard to send fake DMCA notices and get videos and channels taken down. Youtube doesn't even bother investigating the source most of the time.

I like AVGN. There are some people on YouTube who do not like James Rolfe, in particular a certain fellow with glasses who seems to have a chip on his shoulder. I do not like this person at all, and have every reason to suspect he is somehow behind the removal of AVGN content.

I wish James the best in the future and hope the matter will be resolved shortly.
