Remember Ray?
I know the movie, and I know Foxx was supposedly excellent in it, but I've yet to see it, so I can't have an opinion, unfortunately.

JGL to star in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

Should make a lot of people happy, but I'm more than fine with not seeing this.

Really? Sin City is likely my favorite comic book movie. Why the lack of interest?

I much more prefer the graphic novels to the movie. SIN CITY tries too damned hard to the point where it comes off as silly. Don't get me wrong, I love Bruce Willis talking to himself, and Jessica Alba is jaw dropping, but if you are making a film noir you have to carefully make sure your cliche's are obvious, but not laughable. I'm all fine with "I've got a bum ticker" once, but when repeated it sounds silly. It also reminded a bit of SPEED RACER as the focus was on the visuals, and not the best part: Frank Miller's writing.

It's a fine narrative that I think is better on paper.

hmm, I'm actually tempted to hastily agree with this statement.

Unless Ninja Turtle movies count as "comic book" movies... (?)

Well the first TMNT movie is based more on the comics than on the cartoon series...

that's 100% true. Yeah. The first movie is a lot like those early comic books, although if I recall correctly the comics introduced Krang kind of early didn't they? It's been some years since I've read the comics. I really need new copies.

I always wished that Krang / Dimension X had found a way into the movies... maybe Michael Bay will do that since he mentioned "alien origins" or whatever.

I've been meaning to watch all the Ninja Turtles movies--it's been at least 20 years since I last sat down and watched them. Have they stood the test of time, or is my nostalgia going to let me down?
