Imports on Sega CD?
so how easy is it to get your Sega CD (I have an X'Eye) to play imports? I've yet to look into this though I'm steady importing Saturn and Dreamcast games.

Re: Imports on Sega CD?
both of those links I sent you are helpful, you know. They mention that there's not a good list of games that work, that there are some modding and cart-based partial solutions, etc. I might be an asshole sometimes, but I really am trying to help you out here...noiseredux wrote:check out the pic in the OP here:dsheinem wrote:http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 56#p189556

Re: Imports on Sega CD?
neither gives a real definitive answer to my question. And considering how old they are, I figured there might be some newer definitive answer now though.

Re: Imports on Sega CD?
Good question. Do burned Mega CD games work on a NA Sega CD? I've google-searched things like this and just ended up more confused than when I started.
I would like to import some Mega CD games - the Cosmic Fantasy titles and Popful Mail specifically. I'm sure I could get them to run in Kega Fusion, but I'd prefer to use actual hardware.

I think so... but not sure. I really have no interest in burning copies to play, even if I have the actual game. I'm looking to import and play official games instead of backups.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Good question. Do burned Mega CD games work on a NA Sega CD? Re: Imports on Sega CD?
You can't play any import games on a Sega CD unless you mod it with a multiregion BIOS or use a cartridge-based solution, which doesn't work 100%. I actually have a European Mega CD II which I'm using along with my Everdrive (which is used for loading the appropriate BIOS image for the game I'm playing), but it doesn't work with everything which is why I'm looking at a BIOS mod now.
One other thing you can do if you're playing burned games is to change the region setting for the particular game you want to play so it plays nice with your Sega CD. Here's the program for that: http://www.retrodev.com/convscd.html
