Definitely a The Raid clone. But not a bad one...

Also: slomo + torture = WIN !

Final
Saw this on Fearnet On Demand. Great intelligent dialog and very good acting. This movie reminds me of the the original Twilight Zone series, the story that hooks you in. At the end, I wonder if I would willingly had made the same decision as the "patient" did, knowing the consequences.

An obscure title to Google Search: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0277705/

Its a keeper and cheap too :D :

My wife and I had tacos and PBR tall boys to accompany...

La Casa De Mi Padre (2012)

the Spanish-language, telenovela-style Will Ferrell film. It was a great combination, and while it is not my favorite Will Ferrell film, it was quite enjoyable. Intentionally bad movies are never quite as good as unintentionally bad ones, but Will Ferrell pulls it off in this one. He plays it - almost - perfectly straight and lets the "cheapness" of the production (such as the crew's clear reflection in the actors' sunglasses, continuity errors, painted backgrounds, etc.) account for most of the laughs. In sum, I recommend this movie if you are looking for something very different, you enjoy "bad" films (like Birdemic, Plan 9, etc.), and if you have had more than a few drinks.

Has anyone been to a theater that played SCARY MOVIE 5 and HAUNTED HOUSE back to back? Definitely the most I'll laugh at either movie.

Oh yes.

Scary Movie 5

Haunted House

The debate on which movie pulls off the "dropping kitchen pans" gag is now official.

So I watched a classic yesterday. Screw all the remakes, the sequels, the updated sequels, the 3D sequels, the...hell, you get the idea. The original is still disturbing in its "what the fuck" kind of way, with Leatherface, his crazy brother, and their bizarre family hacking up people for food and fun and then using them for decorations, couches, lamps, chandeliers, or whatever else they like. Though admittedly, as twisted as it is, it's also not very gory.
