Code of Princess - 3DS
Paper Mario Sticker Star - 3DS
Akai Katana - 360

I also got an Xbox 360 as a combined birthday/christmas present (they're close together). I am now finally a part of the modern home console gaming world. And of course, the first game I buy during my gateway into the modern generation, is a 2D sidescroller. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. Quite good, if you're a Castlevania fan.

I bought my girlfriend video games for Christmas. Lollipop Chainsaw and Left 4 Dead. She loves them both. I also got my younger sister Sonic And Sega All Stars Racing Transformed.

Most games I got this month were games I purchased for myself. The only gaming related gift that was actually given to me was a new PC from family, though ironically the PC was really so I could work from home. My company's software wouldn't work on my old PC. The fact that my new computer is a decent gaming machine was a bonus :D

Since we're also mentioning books, the other present I got was How to Win at Super Mario Bros. My original childhood copy was beloved, but disappeared at a friend's house in high school during a month-long class project (long story) and I never really got over it. I used to find myself wistfully pining for it at random moments since it went missing... but no more!

Ahh, the hand-drawn level map goodness. I can't believe how attached I am to this thing. :P

I too had that book, and I too have since gotten nostalgic for it. Back in the day, it was a must-have for those damn mazes in some of the castle-levels.

I was given quite a few games on Steam over the holidays, all of which were very nice surprises. :D

Today at my folks I was given Tekken Tag 2 and Twisted Metal (PS3), two games I've been itching to play for some time.

People should be happy that any one thought of them, I never expect or ask for anything. No gets for me this year, but I also did not want any thing.

The moral is to be happy for what you have and receive and give a little.
I'm on board with your comments, and I was quite happy to make the season fun for my family. Let me add a little bit for clarity: "overall it was a *gaming* bust this year." I promise I have the life experience to appreciate what I do have. And I'm looking forward to playing Haunting Ground.
Picked up Just Dance 4 this week. The Ricky Martin song is a hoot.

I received a package containing a ton of gaming candies. Super Mario fruit strips in a coin box, a Playstation Move candy dispenser, a Yoshi Mario Kart candy dispenser, a WiiMote candy dispenser, a Mario mushroom with sours in it, a Mario face with jawbreaker type candies in it, a Mario star with candies in it, a small coin box with candies in it, and a tiny Pac-Man arcade cabinet tin full of Pac-Man shaped candies. Also, from my sister I received a collectible Super Mario yahtzee game.

I also got an Amazon gift card I used to purchase the Japanese version of Talk Man, which is a PSP game with a microphone that features 4 languages and lets you play games to test fluency, along with a loose copy of Shin Megami Tensei for Super Famicom.

The big gift that really suprised me though was when I was given an Assassin's Creed III white Playstation Vita as a collaboration gift. Along with it I was given Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Ragnarok Odyssey, and Persona 4: Golden. I've been completely hooked on the system since I opened the box. Persona 4 has swiftly risen into one of my favorite games of all time.
