Count Dooku and General Grievious were much better characterized villains with more depth than Darth Maul could ever hope to have. And there was a lot more Jedi ass-kicking in Episode II. Plus you got to see Jengo Fett and how could you not love the scene where Yoda was kicking ass?

The Postman
Got mixed feelings about this.. Did it deserve its commercial and critical failure, especially considering the utter tripe that rakes in the millions nowadays? Probably not, but it's flawed and overlong. If I were to rate it numerically, I'd give it a 3.5★'s (out of 5)

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I need to see more of my movies.
That should be one of many of my new years resolutions.
I probably have about 30-40 dvds and movies on my backlog that I still have to see.
It doesnt help that theres only one tv in the house right now and my mom uses it to watch Novellas.
And the Laptop that I use now is for going on the net. I cant watch a dvd on the computer and be here (on RB) at the same time.
All those 1-3 dollar dvds I pick up at the fleamarket need a good home with me.
I'll be posting here more I hope.

I also love "not as beautiful as you".
In my own little world I imagine the line readings playing out like:
Hayden: *covers eyes with right hand, shakes head slowly* I... I don't like sand. *removes hand from eyes to discover he is misty eyed* It gets everywhere.
Lucas: CUT! Waht the F*** was that?
Hayden: Just my line reading George.
Lucas: No. That wasn't a reading, that was acting. Just read the f***ing line and quit with all your "acting". This is a two day shoot followed by three years of implementing cgi so just read your damn lines so I can get this in postpro.

Watched THE MONSTER SQUAD again and may watch it again tonight. The movie was on the screen, but I paid little attention to it.

Hayden's a better actor than the prequels would lead you to believe, I kinda feel bad for him.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I hear ya. He's actually pretty great, and although he'll be financially well off for the rest of his life, the prequels sealed his career.AppleQueso wrote:![]()

Kuwait Connection
A seventies Arabic ode to (you guessed it) films like the French Connection, but is unfortunately rather naff.

An oldie but a goodie. Watching Half Baked, which I am half way through, and am only paying half of my attention to.

Saw Silver Lining Playbook today with my mom. It was one of many on a list of movies she wanted to see this year and is having a "limited engagement" at one of the theaters nearby, so off we went.
It was a surprisingly feel-good movie and I really wasn't expecting it to be (she's been taking me to a lot of depressing stuff lately), so I was pleasantly surprised. It did have some slow parts, but it also had some excellent acting (Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Chris Tucker, Jacki Weaver...) and I ended up walking out of the theatre with a smile on my face. Nice film.
