2012 ---> 2013...

Post by Spyke »

Hi all,

January 1st 2013 marks the first "New Year" I celebrate as a member of Racketboy.

I've learned so much here by reading the authoratative articles and following informed discussions - and by reading what members have replied to my numerous posts with questions! ;) Thanks to you all

I mostly play shmups so this may be more appropriate for that forum but I thought I'd post it here as it was more to do with the message board in general.

Just a big thank-you to everyone that's helped me out with console and game advice. I now have a great collection of hardware and some fantastic titles, many purchased as a direct result of read feedback on this site. I'm looking forward to 2013, but have a few goals I'd like to set myself too.

I want to 1cc some of my games and keep a log of my progress on them (can anyone recommend a good internet site/blog for doing this?), particularly Hellfire (which I 1cc-ed when I was much younger), Mushihimesama Futari (not on novice - can do that already!), Under Defeat HD, Gradius Gaiden and Raiden DX.

I aim to become a better, more disciplined player and intend to set up a schedule which I hope to stick to in order to achieve those goals.

Do any of you have goals to set for yourselves, gaming-wise, for 2013?

Best wishes to all my friends here on Racketboy!

Ant :)

There's a great android app called KeepTrack Pro that I use for similar things. The app is amazing for keeping track of anything, really.

My Main goal is to keep up on the back catalog of games I acquired through the various Humble Indie Bundles and Steam Sales I got through the holidays, not to mention the gifts given to me (although I am making good headway, beating Saints Row 3, Heavy Rain, Rochard, Jamestown, Torchlight 2 and Metro 2033 in the last few weeks).

I also really want to work on doing quality Let's Plays. I got a high quality studio Mic for Christmas, as well as a 1080p Webcam. I also want to test out streaming of retro games, both arcade, console and PC. Those are my big plans for the new year. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for the recommendations. I'll look into those blogging options.

I've achieved one of my aims early: 1cc of Hellfire! Wow, does that game up the difficulty on the second loop! Plenty of gameplay in it that's for sure! :)

Not a bad start for my aims and goals...
