So I just got out of Les Mis, and holy shit. If you're at all a fan of musical theater I highly recommend it.

I've heard a small amount of good about this, but the majority of those who I know who have seen it have not reviewed it positively. They mostly said that all the songs run together in a poor way, and that it would have been better overall if they hadn't sung every single line the way they did.

The only musical I've ever liked is Sweeney Todd, so, y'know, my personal opinion is null.

Did they not know it was a sing-through musical?

I'm not really sure. I know that two of the three I talked too saw the theatrical version and loved it, so, I'm not really sure.

I was just giving some input, I'm not a fan of musicals.

Well, it being Christmas, I figured I would watch a Christmas classic.

What a wonderful, creepy movie! Normally I watch classics like Gremlins or Die Hard, but I think I'm going to start inflicting this movie on my family from now on.
For me, the stand out scene of the film is when Jess searches the house for the murderer and comes across the corpses of Phyl and Barb. Seeing the killer's eye staring at her through the crack in the door made me shudder in my seat. What a beautifully framed shot of his unblinking eye focused madly on her.

A very loose remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night, in that the only thing from the original, aside from a few nods, is the killer Santa.

Other than that, it's an excellent slasher, but tragically falls short when compared to the original, which eschewed the standard slasher formula. If you've seen the original, you know what I'm talking about.
woah! I had no idea about this! And Jaime King's in it? Nice.
I loved the remake, although... it's even more mean spirited and gory than the original. Also, an annoying kid gets a horrible death.

The sound effect at the end was the only thing awful about the movie. It's pretty incredible how seamless the movie is and how uninterrupted some of the takes are.

Watched ROADHOUSE this weekend (via Rifftrax) and it was hilarious.

Also finally saw all of THE LOST BOYS. I'd seen parts of it, never seen the whole movie all the way through. What a ridiculous mess. Funny and lame. I dont get why Feldman had to speak in a deep voice.

Last week I saw Jerry Lewis' WHO'S MINDING THE STORE. Probably now my 2nd favorite Jerry Lewis movie after LADIES MAN. The opening scenes with the spy footage is crazy funny.

I will always think of Jerry Lewis as Ronald Reagan's vice president.
