The Nintendo kid got a Genesis
I grew up in a house hold with a Nintendo Entertainment System. Been living with Nintendo's since I was 4. Even ended up getting SNES and N64 as I got older. I'm 26 now and I recently just got a Sega Genesis from my wife for Christmas and I gotta say... I've been missing out. I've never owned anything Sega before. My cousins had a genesis and that's about as much of one as I saw. The Genesis is pretty damn awesome! I've been playing lots of Road Rash and Streets of Rage lately. Just some games that came with the system. I love it very much so far! I am excited to start a new chapter of game collecting and playing. Feels damn good joining the Sega club. There's room for both Nintendo and Sega though. =)

Never too late to get a little sega love.
Look here on racketboy for hidden gems and cheap fun games.
We've made some lists here (in the forum)on great games as well.
Genesis games are real cheap all over the place. If you're not sure of a game, you could always emulate it. But the games are cheap enough that you can buy it and not worry about paying too much.
Games are even cheaper if you dont get them CIB.
have fun in your gaming quest.

yeah the games are great. Awesome colors and graphics too! My only complaint is that the D-pad on the controllers are a little less accurate. Hard to describe. But not that huge of a problem. I really want to get the Genesis Castlevania game. Looking forward to that

Re: The Nintendo kid got a Genesis
Nintendo is Great but I kinda little prefer sega genesis
because Some japanese game makers Use the Full capacity of The genesis which is Why I LOVE the genesis. Games such as Thunder force IV, Streets of rage and Plenty more is one of those games i'm talking about.
I do love the SNES cause it's more powerful But some games underestimated themeselves... BUt what am I saying!! it's 90's! People enjoy their SNES!. I do love both consoles, I just think Genesis did so much that It could bear and SNES games could have done Far more! But with all my respect both consoles are epic

Not even close. The SNES is the weakest of the three 16-bit era systems if you are talking about "power". The ONLY areas it is best in are the colour palette and hardware supported special effects. That's ALL.shmupguy97 wrote:I do love the SNES cause it's more powerful
Both the Genesis and Turbografx-16 are, overall, more 'powerful' than the SNES. The SNES has built in hardware support for special effects (think 'mode 7'), while the Genesis and TG-16 generally had to do special effects with software programming. Basically, Nintendo cheaped out with the main CPU and severely crippled it in order to save money. They overspent on the sound chip, basically making it great for producing samples and crap for everything else, and, like I mentioned, added in hardware support for special effects. The best thing about the SNES is it's robust colour palette (however, the TG-16 has double the on-screen colour count than the SNES has).

Re: The Nintendo kid got a Genesis
Sweet I'll be checking it out. I'm loving both Genesis and SNES very much. I don't care which one has better technical aspects, for me it just depends on what game I'm playing. If I'm playing a rad game then it rules, if the game sucks, then it sucks. That simple
