I asked this question three years ago in this very forum. I feel old! My other wheel bit the dust so here I am again.
Basically, I'm looking for a good, solid wheel that can last me a while for a budget of 70-80€ including shiping. I want to play OutRun, Spy Hunter, Daytona and Crazy Taxi to name a few so it's all arcade racing, no simulations. Computer only, by the way.
Any suggestions? Feel free to suggest any and I'll look into it. Are Xbox 360 wheels compatible with a PC? Because I've played in this one and I liked it:
Thoughts?

All 360 wheels should work on the PC. Ive not used that one on a PC, but I have used the Logitech 360 wheel on the PC with no issues. Reviews on that Madcatz one are not bad, but sadly I have no first hand experience with it.

For PC, even for simple games, my vote goes for the Driving Force GT wheel by Logitech.

Cool! They use an USB right? It has been so long since I last saw an Xbox I don't remember.fastbilly1 wrote:All 360 wheels should work on the PC. USB all the way. Unless its one of those fancy wireless ones, then you are on your own. Most will mount as a mouse, and if you play with your settings you can use it as a mouse in your OS. I did it on my old HTPC so people wouldnt just come in and screw with it - it backfired.

They don't cost all that much used. I forgot you're in PAL-land though so shipping would probably still make it prohibitive unless you bought locally.General_Norris wrote:That's waaay outside my budgetRyaNtheSlayA wrote:For PC, even for simple games, my vote goes for the Driving Force GT wheel by Logitech.![]()

I recommend the MOMO, and seeing that you're not into sims it's more than perfect. One note though: On default settings the centering spring is too rigid, but it can be loosened via Logitech's drivers. I don't think many will bid on that item. Happy hunting!

Yeah, they are more expensive here. I'm also extremely wary of used hardware so I would rather get a brand new one, I have been scalded and it's my holiday gift so I can't really hunt around.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:They don't cost all that much used. Right now I'm sticking to that Microsoft wheel I posted, I haven't found anything well received in a similar range so unless you guys have any ideas frm here to the night I'll have to order it.
