I was surprised to see only 10000 votes on IMDb for a Humphrey Bogart classic. This film is pretty decent noir and fans of such classics ought to check it out!

I watched The Amazing Spider-Man. At first, I wasn't feeling it. I didn't enjoy having to go through his origin story all over again. Then, I started to feel like they were rushing through his origin too much. However, I think everything in this movie comes together nicely in its second half and ends really well. The bonus scene after the credits is interesting

I really enjoyed the focus on Gwen Stacy. I remember thinking while watching the Raimi movies that I would have liked a Spider-Man story with more of a focus on her rather than Mary Jane and this movie made that happen. For some reason I find Gwen Stacy more interesting than Mary Jane and they built up her relationship with Parker really well. I don't really like Denis Leary, but he did an okay job in this movie. He looked a lot like Norman Osborne from Raimi's Spider-Man movies. The Stan Lee cameo was funny and I literally laughed out loud at the "Mother Hubbard" scene. I don't think this movie makes the same impact as Raimi's Spider-Man. It suffers a bit from having to retread the same territory (I almost wish they could have skipped the origin story), but still a solid Spider-Man movie.

I used to be a big Spider-Man fan years ago. At one time I might have called him my # 2 favorite hero after Batman. This movie actually makes me feel like grabbing some Spidey comics. All I read these days is DC stuff. So having seen this, Dark Knight Rises and Avengers I still think Avengers is the best comic book movie of the year

I don't really like Denis Leary, but he did an okay job in this movie. He looked a lot like Norman Osborne from Raimi's Spider-Man movies.

Denis Leary actually gets mistaken for Willem Dafoe all the time. He even mentions that it happens in one of his books.

Finally got around to seeing this



It took me back to a time where movies like this would be on independent stations like WNEW channel 5 in New York on Saturdays in the early 80s during their "Drive In Movie" where they would show the finest in poorly dubbed & edited Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest kung fu films. This is a damn good one to get started with.

Finally got around to seeing this

My wife and I watched this on our first date! Needless to say, we are both big fans!

This is a very good, under-rated film. I have a copy in my DVD collection, however, and esteemed critic Richard Corliss (Time magazine) considers it one of the very best films.

PARANORMAN and FRANKENWEENIE (2012) are great. Hard to pick a favorite as both were better than expected.

End of Watch


The film felt similar to Training Day and unsurprisingly I found out it's the same writer as the credits rolled by. This blurb from the WSJ sums up my thoughts to a T.
Shallow down inside, End of Watch is a music-video Frappuccino of quick cuts, sparkling banter, serial crises, grisly violence and tongue-jerk profanity. But the film is exciting, in its manipulative way, and exhausting.
