It seems like a lot of gamers like to spew this crap when a game they like gets a mediocre review, or a game they don't like gets a good review. Yet, aside from a few outliers, there's little to no evidence of this happening.
Exactly. Most reviewers nowadays admit that their review is only an opinion, not a rule, and meant as advice to the general public. Not some gaming bible that must be obeyed. Yet time and time again people come up with bullshit excuses to defend why "that review was shit" or whatever.

Oh look, another baseless accusation made by someone who's taking video games way too seriously. Kinda like this top rated comment on the very video you posted...

"IGN now hires pussy gamers. I bet he replaced his joysticks with dildos for comfort.

I've tried repeatedly to learn to love EM1, as it was a high profile, good-looking console exclusive. My issues with it are too many fetch quests, annoying camera that sometimes disables (manual adjustment) for no clear reason, too much back tracking, painted/thinned parts of the hubs don't stay as you set them, moral consequences aren't always clear, and floaty jumping (although that one is a bit subjective).

I actually had EM2 preordered but canceled after some impressions from the HD demos leaked out.

I heard the Wii U version is absolutely terrible.. I saw the Giant Bomb stream and was amazed at the frame lag.. It literally dipped to single digit FPS when they painted a room..

Do I need to watch the whole video to see it? I don't understand what they are freaking out about.

Me either. I went to the 16 min mark. I haven't seen videos of it on other consoles but I do not see anything in that clip that looks bad. What are we suppose to be seeing?

You don't see anything wrong with that low of a framerate? That's like 12fps!

30 is tolerable for me, but I really prefer 60. Anything under about 28 is just unplayably choppy to me.
