Right, but in your case you knew going in that you weren't going to be happy with him (as the general Dem platform is larger government). So Obama didn't let you down. Dave's point was to say that Obama let you down when you gave him a shot is probably not accurate.
Yeah, that's true. I did wait to see just how big things would get, but I wasn't expecting much.

Shoot. So I guess I've been wasting all this time trying to beat Battletoads then.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

Another random fact: According to the 28th Amendment, beating Battletoads is a requirement for the presidency. The only way Bush Jr. got the job was because he "beat" the game (but we all know that Jeb Bush got him through it).

Re: Gaza.

We all do understand that women are seen differently in the Middle East right? Yes, Clinton is the Secretary of State, but I wonder what impact she'll make when she may be thought of as a second class citizen.

Sometimes I wish we'd but out of others affairs until the dust settles.

I know you were joking, but you're actually right. The stuff happening over in Israel is too delicate and too important for us not to involve ourselves.

Taking a smaller role on the international stage is appealing to a lot of people for obvious reasons, but history shows a nation our size just can't do so. It's like an oak trying to keep from towering over the rest of the trees.

Anyway, I'm hoping that things turn out the way they often have in the past: Israel invades, busts some heads, a truce is declared, things go back to normal for a while.

I would love to see Israel not invade, a truce to be worked out, and a two-state solution come about with no further bloodshed.

That would be nice, but I just don't see it happening.

Anyway, I think it's time I change the name of this thread (and end the poll  ).
