If this is the end for Silicon Knights, that's too bad... I really enjoyed Eternal Darkness and MGS: TTS.

You should read the article that isiolia posted on the previous page. It has some history detailing why those games were great compared to what else they released so far.BoringSupreez wrote:If this is the end for Silicon Knights, that's too bad... I really enjoyed Eternal Darkness and MGS: TTS.

That isn't how retail works. Copies that have already been sent out to distributors and stores mean that Silicon knights already has money for them. So if people buy copies, there is no change. Any that are available would need to be sent back and credited. At best if everyone bought every copy everywhere they'd have a 0 change to their balances. Any that are returned for credit to be destroyed counts against them. There will be no extra money, just a potential lessening of the hole they're being thrown into.isiolia wrote:Definitely seems like the end for them. I mean more that seeing it hit the gaming news circuit might help alleviate their costs a little. If people go buy up remaining copies, they don't need to pay to ship them back, and instead they get a little cash to put towards the rest of the settlement costs, if not other bills/paychecks/whatever.

Ah, yeah, you're right. Just serves to reduce buy back, if anything. Even so, still probably preferable to see them sold versus not.Hobie-wan wrote:That isn't how retail works. And this only applies to sealed copies, correct? So Gamestop and the like will be keeping their used copies?

That's what the announcements said. Just unsold new copies.BoringSupreez wrote:And this only applies to sealed copies, correct? So Gamestop and the like will be keeping their used copies?

I really doubt the price will go up. There are already tons of copies of each game circulating on the gray market and each game has already had at least one reprint.

Especially Too Human. Most stores don't even sell that game anymore. Only a tiny fraction will be called back and destroyed.pankakes123 wrote:I really doubt the price will go up.
