Wii-U thoughts so far

Just got the Wii U.. I went to wal-mart and got there around 10:50 or 11 ish and I was second in line out of 9 Wii U Deluxe packs and 4 regular.. The guy in front of me was playing his 3DS XL.. Man I want that thing.. I get a feeling around Christmas time that the 3DS XL will be much harder to find than the Wii U.. Don't know if I want to play it now.. Did not buy any games or accessories yet and plan on buying from Amazon.. Btw I was kind of shocked.. I really thought I had no chance at getting one, but there really wasn't as many as I thought it would be..

Updating mine now. My Walmart sold 60 preorders and had 4 white units and 3 black units for walk ins. Those were all spoken for by the time I got there at 10. I picked up Mario to have something to play alone tonight but tomorrow I'm going to grab some more games from TRU's buy 2 get $30 off sale. I believe that starts tomorrow anyhow.

Congrats on you guys who successfully got a Wii U. I'll be picking up my preorder from Gamestop tomorrow morning hopefully with no issues. The only game I'm picking up so far is NSMBU.

Yeah I hear the update takes awhile and is about a Gig in size.. I feel bad for people that bought the Standard... I have no idea what game I'm going to get.. Could get TTT2 again and will probably get Mario or Zombi U.. Might even give CoD a shot for once being more of a BF fanboy.. I honestly wasn't going to buy this until more JRPGs were released for it, DQ X might be awesome..

Finally the Wal-Mart I went too was pretty cool.. They didn't let people who didn't preorder buy more than one and I think that's the right way to approach it.. I would have tried to buy two if there wasn't many people in line, but it seemed like there was just enough to go around and I didn't have the balls to be a dick and buy two LOL..

Take this review with a grain of salt, but gamespot gave ZombiU a 4.5/10 saying

The survival horror genre is a balancing act. The player needs to feel fear and helplessness, but also needs satisfying ways to take action and combat those feelings. This harmony is something even the genre greats struggle with, but that hasn't stopped the first-person survival horror game ZombiU, the latest to throw its hat in the ring--and on a new console no less. However, its vision of a zombie-infested London not only fails to create an engaging horror experience, but also falls short of being a good game.

Hopefully its not another Red Steel. A game with a ton of hype behind it that is poorly executed.

I am thinking tomorrow I'm going to pick up TankX3, Sonic Racing and Mickey 2. I'm going to wait on ZombiU till I see more of it. I need a nunchuck also. I bought two copies of Flingsmash for the Wiimote+ that comes with them. TRU had them for $24 B1G1 40% off so with my discount I got two Wiimote+ for $35 plus I'll trade in the actual games.

It's a shame that the Special Edition of Epic Mickey 2 is not available in the US.. Looks awesome..

Just picked mine up a couple hours ago. Every store in the small town I live in had their pre orders sold out, so we decided to try to start the line at Meijer around 6pm. To be honest we didn't have much competition getting one, only one other guy showed up and that was around 9pm.

I shalt let you all know my thoughts once this firmware update is done. We've been waiting around 20 minutes now, and we're barely a quarter of the way through.

Update is almost done. After it runs through the first one it fills up a second bar. The second bar is at 99%.
