This. You don't even need to worry about static unless you're actually Electro.AppleQueso wrote:Frankly, I can't understand how you can screw up installing a hard drive. The connectors to it are distinctly shaped and it's pretty clear what plugs into what.
If you can hook up a game console, you can put together a computer.

I'm still trying to figure out why a factory wipe and restore wasn't done with the disc if doing a Windows system restore back a week or two didn't clean up the mess.

Because it didn't come with a restore disc. And a windows system restore worked for about 2 minutes before the hard-drive failed again.Hobie-wan wrote:I'm still trying to figure out why a factory wipe and restore wasn't done with the disc if doing a Windows system restore back a week or two didn't clean up the mess.

I don't know how I can make it clearer. I'm not a computer geek. You guys can just keep beating me over the head about how dumb I am for not knowing how to fix a computer if it makes you feel better, though. I only know the simplest of things like a system restore, or installing new RAM.

Less than a year, which is why I was so frustrated.stickem wrote:gots to order those. prolly around 35 bucks.BurningDoom wrote:Because it didn't come with a restore disc. The system restore did work, for about 2 minutes. Then it all started crashing again. Icons and programs completely disappearing. Not enough resources to launch the control panel even, the 2nd time around. Which is what led me to believe the hard drive was hurt.
