One has 300 posts, one has 6000. Even if you have the same signup dates I'd consider the 300 guy to be newer than you.

:x Got some friends meant to be coming round, but they're taking ages.

:D Beat Super Mario World and had a beer as I waited. Who needs friends?

Cut Dish some slack peeps.

Yes "addiction" doesn't always mean severe trauma, and yes "retarded" doesn't always mean mentally retarded, (boo-yah) but he's simply looking out for the reputation of this board and the use of the word "retarded" should not be thrown around.

Simmer down now.

Smile: The weekend is upon us. Thinking about picking up the Avenger's Kinnect game and playing it with friends, but have no idea if it is worth the $40. It looks like fun, but could be a one trick pony.

Also thinking about picking up the board game Apples to Apples.

Frown: The dow. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Unless you had plans to cash out soon, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I am sure that it will have bigger gains and losses before either of us plan to retire. I am also slowly coming to the conclusion that the DJIA is almost completely disconnected from the American economy...

Except that, in that thread, the word addiction being used in no way brought bad blood to the forums.

How is defining addiction in a way that basically strips it of ever being used by anyone helping to protect the board? Everyone got the gist of what was being discussed, and no one was claiming to suffer severe trauma at their lack of soda.

As someone that has been addicted to substances in my life, Dsh's definition of the word offends me, is completely innaccurate, and only served to derail/end a thread that he disliked... again.

I'm not in a panic, but whoa that was a huge dip. I believe the dow is cyclical, but sometimes the wheels simply fall off. If anything, this is a reminder for me to check in daily and see what trends stick.

They definitely fell off in 2008 - when, if I recall correctly, the DJIA dropped to less than 5000. I really wish that I had poured all of my savings into the stock market at that time, but two children and student loans does not leave a lot of room for speculation.

2008 was an outlier, and another year of elections. At a three month low, I'm not planning on moving funds but not keeping an eye on current investments would be folly.

I don't buy into any of the Trump Talk, but already I've heard news of layoffs (mostly by jerks). In times as this is is best to use common sense and not shoot from the hip.

Still. Ouch. No plans on moving to mutual funds, but...Ouch.
