That's the heart of the issue right there. Is it part of the mother or is it an individual? That's what the whole controversy pivots on.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I'm not in favor of the government telling people what they can't do with their own bodies.
Lots of things are debateable, but that doesn't mean the government shouldn't take a stance, particularly for something like this. And really the government has taken a stance in Roe v Wade. It's just a stance I disagree with.Jmustang1968 wrote:I think it is the individuals right up until a certain point. Some believe life at conception, I think it is ok to abort until the fetus is sustainable on its own or minor assistance... The cutoff point is debatable.
Perhaps strangely, this isn't really a religious issue for me. It is a moral one, but many, many issues related to the government are.Jmustang1968 wrote:So I believe this is a religious and moral decision the government has shaky ground to stand on.

No more abortion debate in this thread please. If you wanna have a discussion about it please take it to a new thread.

Smile: Got some dental mess mostly taken care of. Some temp stuff to be finalized in 3 weeks.
Frown: Was there nearly 4 hours and I could have bought a fairly nice used car, a badass vacation, or a whole lot of something else a lot more fun.
Smile: Found a copy of Beehatch at Half Price Books on the way home.
Frown: Stupid ebay person sent my boxed SNES game in a gigantic padded envelope instead of a box. Also the anasthetic wore off and my face hurts.

Frown - I'm sick as hell; shivers, congestion, sore throat. Yay.

Besides, if you are genuinely sick it's probably best to stay home. You don' want to risk spreading whatever you've got to the people you work with. Especially around the holidays. No one wants to be denied the joy of turkey on Turkey Day. That'll make them really dislike you for a while.
