Saw the movie over the weekend, and overall was pretty disappointed. I'd love to hear more in-depth thoughts from people who enjoyed it; I'm wondering why exactly I had such a different experience from the majority of viewers.

Indeed. The biggest complaint I seem to see from gaming-corners of the internet is that there weren't enough cameos/references to older games and that they felt there would be more. I thought that they had just enough of these, personally, and that the film's characters carried the movie just fine.

Yeah, i didn't expect the poster at all. I try not to let marketing color expectations. I thought the original characters were quite well done for animated fare, and were much more compelling than the cameos (as should be the case).
